Both of these low cost airlines have recently moved into our airport. Does anyone have any idea when flights might be available for sale on these airlines for March 2011?

Currently prices for March 2011 for United and Delta are about $200 more per ticket that we normally pay ($500 vs. $300). Do prices on these airlines usually go down when the low cost airlines release their flights?

I need to buy tickets for 9 people (Two families plus Grandma), so I am looking for the lowest cost options. Usually we buy tickets waaaayyyyy ahead (like 10 months) so I know I have the flights I want. But since I am buying for others, I am going to try to wait. Any idea when the costs might go down?

THANKS

If it is your spring break week, the prices might not come down. I've never had the fares go down for me at that time of the year. Not sure when Air Tran will release their fares but maybe close to Southwest's schedule.

Just an FYI that airtran sells group rates with 8 and over travelers. Other airlines also. I would check with group travel to see if you can get a better price. Just a thought

Also remember that Allegiant charges a convenience charge of $17 per person, per leg of your trip for booking on their website. Go to the airport and buy your tickets at the ticket counter to not pay this fee.

Keep in mind that Allegiant flys to Sanford, not Orlando. No Magical Express. They also do not fly daily out of most airports, it might be just 2 or 3 days a week.
