Hello...

We're from Nova Scotia, our last trip we drove 12 hours and flew direct with Delta out of Boston (saved over $2500 vs flying out of Halifax). I've now found Air Tran offers a direct flight out of Portland Maine. Just wondering if anyone else has ever flown this particular flight and if so did you fly direct or with a stop?

I absolutely HATE flying so direct is the only way for me. I'm worried if I purchase the direct flight Air Tran will change it to a stop-over (I've never flown Air Tran before). Does anyone know if this is common for this particular flight?

Thanks in advance!

We flew direct (non stop) from Portland last summer. It was a great experience:goodvibes. Air Tran is a good airline and we didn't have any problems with them changing our flights, in fact, they have the same non stop flight times to Orlando as they had last year, so I am thinking they won't be changing them anytime soon.;)

If you are looking for a hotel, we stayed at Holiday Inn Express (Sable Road) and it had a free breakfast, was new(er) and free shuttle (service was very prompt).:wizard:

We flew on Airtran out of Portland, Maine last December.... Despite the fact that 20 inches of snow had been dumped on us the previous day, with more expected, the flight took off on time and had no problems. We flew nonstop leaving Portland at 4:00 pm and arriving at MCO ahead of the 7:30 predicted time.

We are flying Airtran this August as well, and noticed that the nonstop flight (#798) is only on Saturdays and leaves at 12:50 pm (more disney time) and arrives at 4:14. AirTran does now charge $15 per checked bag. We were on a full flight and still had room for some fairly large carry-ons.

I signed up online (something called flight tracker I think) and it updates flight info and sends a text to your cell phone. Nice for the piece of mind.

Something else you might want to consider is taking the Cat ferry from Yarmouth, NS to Portland, ME. I think it only takes about 4 hours.

Hope this helps.

We flew last January on Air Tran's direct flight out of Portland it was great.all of Airtran's aircraft are newer. If you are staying onsite at WDW you can even use the resort check in

Thanks so much for all the great feedback! :cool1:

MacQuinn, I only wish we could take the CAT..however it's not running in March :sad2:

Thanks Bea, Holiday Inn Express was exactly what we were thinking too!! Good to know :thumbsup2

Thanks again everyone!
