Air Tran / Disney

I've been pricing trips with airfare and Airtran has the only non-stop flight. I have no problem taking one of the others (most layover in Atlanta for 45min or 1hr), but yesterday when I when to double check some numbers, the 7am morning flight I was planning on taking is no long listed. Bear with me!

I then went to Air Trans on booking site and put in my fight days and Bingo the 7am flight is still listed! Not only still listed, but cheaper than what Disney was listing!

Thanks for listening. I was just wondering if anyone "in the know" could explain it to the regular folk. Of course it could be Greek even to those in the Travel Industry!

Disney or other travel companies may pay for a certain number of seats upfront from the airlines to sell with their packages. So once they are gone they are gone and if the price directly through the airline changes, it doesn't change what the travel agent paid and has to recoup. It is always best to check directly with the airline as well as with a package to see where the best prices are.

I recently booked my non stop flights from Atlantic City to Orlando with Airtran. When I went to check my flight number, I found my non stop flights now have lay overs in Atlanta. This is a short trip and I am traveling with 2 kids, so it didn't work for me. I called Airtran and they let me cancel. My point, just be careful, the non stop flight might change.

Airtran just changed my flight times fro atlantic city drastically but thier policay is to let me change to whatever flight I want for no charge so now I have flights from Philly[ infact a shorter distance from my home] which are better timings [they just were priced higher so I had not booked] and it worked out great. Airtran has always given me great service.

In regards to your question I have never seen Disney price Aitran competitively than if you book direct from their site.

Sorry if I'm repeating myself from an earlier post,but as I had said our Airtran flight to Orlando(nonstop) was changed to a layover in Atlanta on both trips down from White Plains.That is Airtrans main hub,if you can deal with it the price is right,We like to fly non-stop.
