I just watched CNN and they reported that Air Tran will cut their flights this fall. One of the airports that this will effect is MCO. CNN reported that AT will only fly from MCO to Washington on Fridays and Saturdays, so for all of you booked on AT flights I would call to make sure that those reservations leaving MCO have not changed.

Thanks for the heads up....I just checked my AirTran flights and they changed our departure time....we were leaving at 7:30am and now we are leaving at 8am...still getting to MCO before noon :woohoo:. My DH looked again at the different flights for that day and it looks like that is the only non-stop flight out of our area, I am praying that they will not switch it to a 1-stop flight out.

Us too... AirTran has changed our leaving time of our nonstop flight time in December from 12:45pm to 1:40pm. So we get into MCO an hour later :headache:.

We haven't heard a word from AirTran :confused3... Don't they have to noitify you of any changes ?

They moved our original flight home from 3:30 to 7:45. The only nonstop from MCO is at 7:49 pm, how lame!

All good here. Leaving Baltimore on 10/17 and coming back on 10/23. Can't wait!

I am good here for BWI too! Leaving November 28th at 7:00 am and leaving MCO on December 5th at 6:22 pm.

We are flying BWI to MCO 11/4 to 11/11 and DD is flying IAD to MCO on 11/4 and MCO to DCA on 11/8 (Sunday), no changes so far.

AirTran changed our flight from DTW to MCO on 11/13 by about two hours (arriving in Orlando later ). They just changed it back to within minutes of our original flight time. Our return flight has also only changed by about ten minutes. So, I'm happy so far.

I found out this morning they changed our 11/21 outgoing flight to 2 hours later (arriving at 3:25). If we keep this with this flight, it will make us miss our dinner reservation I had for 5:00 that night. I did get an email stating "If this schedule presents any problems, we apologize. Please call us at 1-800-AIR-TRAN (1-800-247-8726) and we will review other flight options with you."

They already changed the time on us a couple of weeks ago and I had to call and get changed to this earlier flight. Now it looks like I'll have to call again. At least they will change you to a different flight for no charge when it's because they change the times. It looks like the only earlier flight I can get is 7:00a, arriving in Orlando at 9:10a. It will get us up very early, but will probably be worth it to get more time at Disney!

Our flights were changed by 25 minutes earlier on our way to DW, which is good, getting there earlier is good with us, but it is 15 minutes earlier on our flight home, making our flight at 10:20 a.m. That is the only flight for the day and it is going to be so hard to get up and ready to go home so early. I hope they move that one back a couple of hours.

They moved our return flight from 10:45 AM to 12:47 PM. Fine with me. Now we don't have to get going quite as quickly in the morning. That flight is still eight weeks away so who knows if they will change it again.

Air Tran changed our flights from IAD on Nov 5 to a MUCH later flight - I called and they switched us to an earlier non-stop out of DCA. I hope there are no more changes.

They changed ours about a month ago. I called Diseny Reservations and was able to add a day to our package. Instead of getting home so late we are staying a extra day. But no recent changes.

I fly out of Dulles exclusively and am not surprised by this news. I use to fly AT alot, but after the all the fees were added I stopped flying them. With SW and Jetblue (along with United) all flying non-stop out of Dulles, most of us will stick with the carriers that don't "fee" us to death. (United does not charge for a seat and does not charge baggage fee for the flight home, only the flight down). We all know JB and SW doesn't charge baggage fees. I had no problem with AT before the new fees. But have to say, the last time I flew them BOTH my flights were cancelled a month or 2 prior. Neither time was I notified. I just noticed my flights were not coming up in my search. I called and my suspicious were confirmed. The agent was very accommodating and I changed to an early non-stop (the only non-stop) departing Dulles and got a full refund for my return flight and I flew home on Jetblue. AT does like to cancel flights more than some other carriers. You need to keep a close eye on their schedule. I generally now fly down on SW and home on Jetblue, depending on the price and times. I bought my January and March fares for $54 each way.

Had a dreaded email in my inbox this morning from AirTran... but as it turns out, we're getting into Orlando almost an hour earlier now! Woo HOO!! I am perfectly fine with that!! We usually fly SW, but their rates have been insane from Houston-Hobby to MCO. A base fare of $64 each way on AirTran was unprecedented, and I couldn't pass it up. Even with a $15 bag fee, it was still way cheaper than SW.

I'm hoping this schedule sticks!

I called last night to rearrange our flights because Airtran had changed the times again (3rd time in a little over a month). We didn't want to get in that late and it was becoming inconvenient to fly out of the airport we had originally chosen (3 hours away), because of the new times. We chose that airport because it was quite a bit cheaper. I was able to change to an airport closer to us (1 hour), to the flights I wanted at no additional charge. We even are leaving a day earlier. I'm so excited! Now we'll be there the full day on Saturday! This works out better than our original plan.

So, if Airtran changes your flight times and you aren't happy with the new times, don't hesitate to call. They will work with you on getting new flights.

Anyone have experience with flight changes for Airtran out of Denver? I'd like to book a cheaper flight for my sis but it's not at the time that she wants. I don't want to book and then have them never change the flight time and have my sis stuck with a time she didn't want. What are my odds do you think?

Never book a flight you're not willing to fly. There is no guarantee the flight will change. There is no guarantee Airtran will continue their current policy of allowing fee free changes after minor schedule changes.

Passengers have to decide what's more important; getting the fare they want or getting the exact flights they want.
