Air Tran, book now or wait

Even though Air Tran is still the cheapest at $252(flying out of DTW), it still is a crazy price, it went up like $50 a ticket in 2 weeks, whats the chances of it going back down? Should I suck it up and pay that or wait and hope it goes down? We leave May 1.

I would book now. Then just check back as often as you wish to. If the fares go down, call them up and ask for a credit to your AirTran account. Credit must be used within one year of the original booking.

Thank you, we go on vacation every other year so the credit would go to waste, so do you think they would let me use that credit towards baggage fee? That is if there is a credit.

I would wait, and not chase the price increases. After the holidays would be a good time to start shopping for tickets. I would never buy something when the price is surging out of fear. I can check loads on May flights, and I can tell you they are only about 10% capacity. Airlines will eventually discount those seats.

AirTran's sales don't extend to May, so I would wait.

With that, I would probably also wait for a few months.

YOu can use credits for anything...baggage, upgrade seats, reserved seats. Also, if you had an expiring credit, you can, if I recall, purchase a voucher with the credits, that would extend another year. If incorrect, I will be corrected.

When exactly are you flying? I got non-stop flights from Flint to MCO April 27-May 5, 2012 for $89/each way. They are up to like $105 now - okay, yesterday when I looked at our flight numbers for transportation reservations they were. Today they are $176. I booked our flights like 3 days after fares were announced.

When exactly are you flying? I got non-stop flights from Flint to MCO April 27-May 5, 2012 for $89/each way. They are up to like $105 now - okay, yesterday when I looked at our flight numbers for transportation reservations they were. Today they are $176. I booked our flights like 3 days after fares were announced.

Im flying May 1-8. Two weeks ago they were $89 and now kicking myself for not booking then. I live 10 min. away from DTW so driving to Flint is not an option, I guess I will just hope and wait. Thanks everone

If it makes you feel any better, I just paid $811 to fly SW roundtrip over Easter week from Albany, ny...I know seats do sell out for that week, and this was a last minute decision to travel....so no real choice!
