I emailed AirTran asking how to sign up for Magical Express, and got this response:

Dear Ms. MinnieMe
Thank you for contacting AirTran Airways, in regards to your message about signing up a Magical Experience through Disney, the only partnership we offer through Disney is discounted tickets.

It is very easy to get these discounts, all you have to do is contact our general reservations department, and tell a customer service agent to transfer you to Disney to receive discounts.

Thank you for contacting AirTran Airways, have a great day!!!
Sincerely,

Does he not understand what I'm asking????

Doesn't AirTran offer Magical Express -- -- ?!?!??!! I thought I read on these boards that they do?? I'm so confused!!!

Air Tran recently became a participating airline in the Resort Airline Check-in service that allows you to check bags and get your boarding passes at your resort on the way OUT of Orlando. You can use it if you use DME or not. DME is available for transfers to and from MCO regardless of which airline you are using. In addition, passengers on any airline can use the inbound luggage handling service.

Regardless, you don't book DME through the airline. You need to book it through Disney directly or have your travel agent make a reservation for you.

THANK YOU!!!! I wonder why my agent didn't hook me up to begin with??? I just emailed her.

Airline employees know nothing of Disney's Magical Express, nor do they need to. It really has nothing to do with the airlines' operations. The only thing the airlines do that has ANYTHING to do with Disney is that at Orlando International Airport they accept pre-checked/pre-screened bags from the Disney subcontractor (BAGS, Inc.) that runs Resort Airline Check-in, which actually is a separate service from DME.

You know how you sometimes get mailings from your airline telling you that you can exchange some frequent flier miles for magazine subscriptions? You fill out the form and mail it to some third-party fulfillment house. What you did, in calling the airline about DME, is exactly like calling your airline directly to ask them how to subscribe to Newsweek.
