Good (hot) Morning!

My sister and I booked our flight for August last night. We got Air Tran from Buffalo to Orlando for less than $175 rt each. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Just wondering how the connection at Atlanta is. We're both of the "I need to know in advance what will happen ilk." :rotfl2: TIA

It's fine. You have time for a coffee and sandwich. They transfer your check-ed luggage. The airport isn't HUGE like Pearson so the walk from gate to gate isn't big.

Just know that Air Tran is a no-frills airline... Just like the grocery store - ugly interior and jam packed!

Thanks for the answer about the checked luggage. I was pretty sure they would transfer it, but we hardly ever fly so we're pretty "uninformed" about anything to do with flights. When we flew SWA in Jan, we didn't hear where we were supposed to pick up our luggage at MCO. We followed other people onto that monorail thing, went to the main terminal and just kept following the crowd. Had no idea if we were headed to A or B baggage claim area ... we just depended on the hopeful knowlege of strangers! :rotfl2:

Anyone know how we work the Magical Express transportation? I don't think ME is affiliated with Air Tran, but apparently we can still use the bus ... we just have to get our own luggage at MCO. We won't be clearing customs because we're flying from Buffalo.

Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated!

Actually the Atlanta Airport is now the busiest in the world and far bigger than Pearson :) But it has many terminals and with Air Tran you'll only have to walk a few gates since its all in the same section.

We just left Atlanta airport-it was busy but a good experience-my two kids loved the fact that they got to ride in a jet, a subway, a bus and a rental car all in one day-But the flight out was in the late afternoon and bad weather did move in-lucky for us with all the fast food places to eat right at the gate area we got to eat-since we sat with 24 other planes on the runway for 40+ minutes-when the weather cleared enough it was total chaos-planes taking off and landing right next to each other-my kids thought it was great!!!!!-Have a great trip!!!!!! :flower:

I am also considering flying BUF to Florida on Airtran, but to Sarasota not MCO. The SRQ airport is only 11 miles from the condo I have rented vs. the long drive from MCO or TPA. I am also concerned about the stopover in Atlanta but if we don't have to change terminals or anything on our layover that would be fine. 12/04 we had a stopover in Washington, DC and it was no problem.

I love that SWA is in a very good finanical position (and for this reason may fly with them BUF-MCO, or BUF-TPA).
Does anyone know what Airtrans financial situation is like????

DH has used Airtran for about a year and a half now with over 150 flight segments! He was commuting from Atlanta to Canada.
Their financial situation is excellent and one of the few US carriers to be making a profit.
They just installed Satellite radio in most of the planes. It is a "charter" type airline with no frills, but DH likes them and he is extremely picky!
He loves Buffalo airport vs. Pearson because it is so small and convenient.
Airtran has a great website www.airtran.com.
If you have any specific questions about them, let me know and I'll ask DH.
Happy flying!
