We usually drive to Orlando so flying in is a fairly new experience for us. DH and I are making a romantic get-a-way in July. Air Tran out of Dayton has the best airfare, but I have never heard of this airline. If any of you have experience with this airline would you mind sharing? I don't much care about the "nicities" I am more concered about the on time record.

Second question. Once we arrive at MCO, how do we want to get to our hotel? I am leaning towards a car service over the Mears shuttle, but what recommendations does anyone have for which car service to use. The only one I have checked out is FL Tours which gave me a price of $95 r/t for Town Car with a grocery stop.

Thanks for any advice.

We have used Airtran many times and except for once when a light had to be replaced we have always been on time or early!!! Love being early!

I have used Tiffany Town Car each time we have flown in.

I've used Air Tran twice, both times they were on time. With most fares, you can only get seat assignments 24 hours before.

Where are you staying? If you are staying on property, you can take advantage of Magical Express, which is free transportation provided by Disney.

Thank you for the quick responses. No, we are not staying on-site at WDW, so Magical Express is not an option for us. Thanks for the tip, though. I think it will come in handy if we go to WDW in the future.

We have used Air Tran 2 times, the first time it was in Dec. we were late on the way down and on the way back got out of FL with tornado warnings and then we were stuck in Atlanta airport for 8-10 hours. we were not offered dinner, use of a phone or anything.....we finally get on a plane no running water??? had an emergency landing at about 1 am. got home at around 2:30 am, open our suitcases all of our stuff was wet, i had a pink tint to my new minnie shirts....you have to report damage to your suitcases with 4-5 hours!!! we called to report our flight and at first they wouldn't even admit to the emergency landing...firetrucks, men in silver suits!!!!! Not sure what happened we heard a loud pop sound and all the lights went out. We finally ended up getting free tickets, when we used them the next year, we checked in and they said "oh I see you got free tickets" I told the lady oh no we earned these tickets!!! :earseek: Our second flight was in Sept. and we had a really nice flight no problems, My aunt and grandma go every year and have had no problems except this one in Dec. we fly out of Bloomington,IL.they have very good prices that's why we use them-next year i think we are going to try Alligient Air from Peoria,IL then we won't have to get up so early and drive to Bloomington! Good luck-I would use them again

We've flown Airtran for the last couple of years out of Bloomington, IL, since it's the only airline here (I believe) that has (or has had) a non-stop to MCO. Love it and have had no problems.

We must all live close by - we use Airtran out of Bloomington and I will probably stick with it til I hear more reviews of the Sanford Airport and flying with Allegiant. I am closer to Peoria but I can't stand taking Delta to Orlando - the connection in Atlanta is ridiculous.

Another thumbs up for Airtran out of bloomington; used it last July, booking december this week.

We used AirTran last week (from Pittsburgh) and the flight down was really early landing---smooth flight, good landing, nice service on the plane. I printed our boarding passes 24 hours before going to the airport and that worked out great.

We used Prestige Towncar service and they were there waiting when we arrived. Took us to Albertson's for a grocery stop too. Had a booster seat for my son also.

Picked us up exactly at the time they said they would going back to the airport 9 days later. I would definitely use them again. The price was $80 RT (they've raised it to $95 with a $5 off coupon now, making it $90), but it was worth every penny when I heard these people next to us in line saying it was 1 1/2 hours to get to the hotel from the airport on the Mears Shuttle.

I flew Airtran last year from DFW to Orlando and on the way there I arrived 15 minutes early and on the way back I arrived home about 30 minutes early. I was thrilled with their service so much so that they are who we are flying this year. Their aircraft fleet is fairly new too so I appreciate that.
