AIr Tran Airfare specials

Air Tran has some pretty good air fare specials going on. Must purchase by 9/20/05 and travel before 2/1/06. I think out of Richmond, VA they are just adding non-stop service to Orlando for like $69 each way. LAX is $129 each way. Wish I was going now. Sometimes that drive gets real boring! Maybe I will hop a plane to Miami or San Francisco for a 4 day weekend. Oooh, my birthday's coming up..maybe I can ask my DH for that as my gift!

I've never flown Airtran but may be booking an Airtran flight for my Mom in the spring. Have you flown with them before and if so, would you mind answering a couple of questions about Airtran?

1. Do you know if they have reserved seating? or are they like Southwest where you board in groups based on what time you checked in for the flight?

2. What's your overall impression of them?

1 For most fare classes Airtran does not allow you to pick your seat until 24 hours in advance. (If you pay more you may get to book earlier)

2. With the exception of #1 they are about the same as any other airline.
