Does anyone have an air purifier for cats/dogs that you love?

I don’t have it specifically for pets but I have two Honeywell HPA’s. I have one for my bedroom and larger one in the living room. The filters certainly indicate that they do the job.

We have a very large air purifier in the main house, and a smaller one that is still in the box (months after buying) in our bedroom. Partly to catch cat fluffs, and partly to clean the air of allergens (pollen) and forest fire smoke. The big one fills up with cat hair. Two ragdolls are a lot to deal with when it comes to fluff.

The big air purifier is a Livepure Bali. It's great (though one died on us and we returned it--so we're on our second). HOWEVER, getting filters from the company that makes them was an issue and we have offbrand ones. Not sure I would get it again knowing how hard it was to find new filters.

The boxed one is a Winix from Costco. I think it works well because my dentist and my optometrist each have one in their treatment rooms, but I can't say for sure. It'll probably not come out until the air turns brown again from forest fires.

I have a Winix 5500 in my first floor, where the cat spends most of her time. It's made a world of difference, as attested by my allergic-to-cats nephew.

We have two Germ Guardians (HEPA), one for each floor of the house, and they've done a great job for about five years. They really helped our allergic son co-exist with our cats. We buy an off-brand filter for them which does just as good a job as the expensive brand.

I have a Levoit, purchased on Amazon and I've had it for two years. I developed severe eye allergies in the last few years. Not sure if my cat contributes to my allergies, but I have noticed an appreciable difference in the severity of my allergies since I started using the Levoit unit.

Don't own one but with any type of HEPA filter device, make sure to check how long the filters last and how much they cost to replace. Filters designed to trap lots of tiny particles, typically clog more frequently and need to be replaced quite often. Filters cost overtime will likely exceed the device cost. Always buy a reputable brand, since it is more likely to work as advertised and they will probably be around in business long enough to be able to get replacement filters.
