Air miles

Has anyone used Tesco vouchers converted to virgin air miles to upgrade their seats? Any advice as I have done this but been told it's not as straight forward as you may think

From what I remember you convert points to miles and get a code back through tesco- using this code you then wait for them to appear on your miles account and then have to check using the miles or fare + miles tab on Virgins site and use your miles - works best if your highly flexible with dates and have a full day spare to browse virgins fare calenders - it is quite a gamble at times and you can end up loosing a lot of miles for not much discount..
