If we get our tickets through air miles, are we eligible for free dining, if it repeats in December?
Or are we better to buy the park tickets outright?
TIA

I'm pretty sure that the tickets have to be bought with the hotel package to qualify for free dining. :( So I don't think so.

But somebody will correct me if I am wrong.

Usually you have to buy at least one day ticket to qualify for free dining...:thumbsup2

You have to purchase a package directly from Disney to get free dining, unfortunately. So you have to pay rack rate for the hotel room and tickets, but the dining is free. You might want to run the numbers with discounted tickets vs. free dining and see which comes out better for your family. For us free dining is generally the better discount, but it seems to depend on how many adults vs. kids, where you are staying, etc.

I hope you can save a bunch no matter what discount you go with!

thanks everyone. My daughter is going in december and bought through expedia or some such site, so I guess she is out of luck.

I am going in November… 2 days WDW, 7 night cruise, 2 days WDW. I booked direct through Disney, so I guess I could do it by adding two-2day park tickets? Maybe it wouldn't work with a split stay.
Know what? I kinda think that maybe we will just forego the parks and do the resorts, DTD etc.
I hate to think how much weight I'm gonna put on.

Next trip, we will dedicate to the parks…. and the food

Thanks again to all. It really helped us get to planning.

We booked a free dining package through airmiles in 2010 and 2011. I'm pretty sure you still can if a free dining offer comes out.

Compare whether getting a good room discount and free passes from Air Miles is a better deal than free dining. It may be.

To book the free dining offer book with either Air Miles directly or redeem for Marlin travel vouchers and book with them. Air Miles is the better deal but it can be easier to use Marlin for more personalized service. Marlin does have a maximum of $400 off person.
You can also earn Air Miles when booking with Marlin and they often have bonus offers.

Oh cool! I didn't know that. We're new to Canada and still figuring out the whole AirMiles thing.
