Hi Everyone! We’re going to WDW in November and are trying to find best prices on airfare from (gasp!) Newark to MCO. Probable be flying Jet Blue as we have some points we could use towards flights. Is there any suggestions on a way to track prices so that we could find best deals when they become available? Thanks so much!

I have been using hopper to identify flights
But always go to airline app to book the actual flight
Hopper does provide predictions on price and tracking is available

Lots of older threads on this topic. If you are flying during peak travel times (like around a Holiday), then the sooner you book, the better. Each flight has a limited number of seats for the best price and when those are sold, the fare jumps to the next higher category. Airlines have little incentive to offer sales on the most popular routes or around Holidays when seats are generally full to capacity. Orlando is also a popular vacation destination the entire year. Some cities are served by multiple airlines, so those locations tend to have more price competition.

Books seats when you feel comfortable with the price. Generally, the non-stop and/or most desirable travel times book up first and then you may be left with choices that may not be when you want to travel.

I have no idea how any 3rd party can accurately 'predict' future prices for airline tickets. I wouldn't make a purchase decision based on that.

I’ve used Google flights to track cash fares. There are other sites that can help with points searches (e.g roame.travel, pointhound)

These days, if you can, I would book a flight and then just track changes and rebook, although I do recall that JetBlue annoyingly makes it hard to deal with rebooking a points flight online (as in, I think you have to call or cancel/rebook)

Hopper or Google Flights. Both allow you to set alerts for a specific route and have the predictive feature to tell you when you book. Just do what pp said and book directly with the airline.

I would caution you to watch out with JetBlue though because their scheduling out of the big three airports in NYC has been very dubious the past couple of years. They also don’t have very many slots in EWR though with the United partnership that may change. I would check United flights out of there too because iirc the partnership will allow you to book United flights with TrueBlue points and vice-versa.

Award bookings are extremely simple to manage with B6, I used to do it all the time when I flew them more. Just cancel and rebook online. You get your points back immediately and lose nothing but the nominal taxes and fees that go into a travel bank. That can be annoying admittedly.

I believe you can just go in and select change flight and then select the same flight you had at the lower fare.

If you're going down "jersey week" flights fill up quickly.
I check to see how full flight is (pretend to book and choose seat)
may also want to check frontier from

As above a few weeks of November is rough at of EWR. If you plan Jersey week or around Thanksgiving you will pay $$$. If you can fly off days you will do fine however. Personally I would not wait for the above weeks they will get very expensive.

My son created account on I think Cheap Air .com and he gets notifications

Google Flights is not bad. Also FYI, if you live close to NYC, LGA sometimes (not always) has more cheaper option compared to EWR. Going to LGA do cost more $ and time, but you can save by the number of seats you need.

Also good to remember that some airlines do NOT show up on various online travel websites.

Have you considered other area airports? Mercer county( Trenton) or atlantic city. I know frontier flies out of mercer, and spirit out of AC. A short drive may pay off on cheaper fares, parking, etc.

Thanks everyone. We’re going to be flying jet blue because we have their points to use towards some of the flights
