Anyone reading these forums is probably already checking rates on every travel site they can find, but I found a big savings by checking the arline site itself. I checked travelocity last night and found that the flight I wanted had dropped $40 per ticket, so I decided it was time to book. Before booking directly thru Travelocity, I decided to check the flight from Delta's own site. They had it $30 per ticket cheaper.
I don't know if other airlines do the same thing, or even if Delta is doing it for all of their flights, but it certainly can't hurt to check. It saved us $90.

A good tip to remember, plus you don't have that little extra charges from those big travel sites.

Thanks for posting.

That's what I usually do too...use a search engine to get a good fare, then book it directly thru the airline site. I used to book thru Orbitz but have stopped now that they are tacking on a $10 fee.
