I remember reading somewhere along the way that there are some hotels in WDW that the air conditioners shut off based on no movement or are somehow temperature regulated. Is the All Stars one of those places, and if so, I remember reading something about buying a balloon or something? I'm sorry I can't remember which place I was reading about, I've been on these boards almost two years and I've finally booked my trip and have read so many threads. I want to make sure our room will be kept cool and the AC kept running somehow....

Hello,
I have stayed at the all star sports a few times, I have not had a problem with the room not being cold because it was very cold, in a comfortable way. But I did have a problem with the air conditioning vent blowing cold air on me in bed. As far as I know you can not change the direction of the vents.:confused3

Hmmm, I guess it's good news that the rooms stay cold, but I wouldn't want it blowing on me in bed. Did you try to redirect it with a towel? I wonder if that would work???

I remember the rooms always being cool each time we came from the parks. The AC was always on. I also remember they have the temperature control in the room so you can adjust the temperature to however you are most comfortable.:)

I guess mousekeeping adjusts the AC when they come in to do the clean up. I noticed the temperature was never the same each time we came back.

thanks for your response, jlatina32. I notice you've stayed at the all stars multiple times. I'm glad to see you're a return customer. As far as the values go, all I hear about is Pop and there are so many pics, posts, etc. I was getting a little nervous about not seeing much info on the ALL stars, but seeing your signature somehow makes me feel better. I would assume you enjoy it there since you keep going back???

I recall those threads. Seems like they were really popular a year or so ago. We have stayed in a variety of WDW resorts and have never noticed any issues with AC, or a lack of. :confused3

I don't know if they have it at the All Stars, but they do at SSR. When we stayed there in April the A/C would turn on when you walked in the door and then cool to the temperature that you had set the T-stat on. However, night was a different story. It is apparently on a timer at night and no matter what we did it would not come on. We like it very cool at night and had some uncomfortable nights because it was too warm. If anyone know how to get the A/C to stay on at night, please let us know!!

I have this written down in my notes I've gathered from the DIS, but I haven't tested it yet:

The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)

Press the Power button and the Down Arrow at the same time. If done correctly, the letters BP should appear in the temp readout. This indicates that the thermostat is in bypass mode (bypassing the motion sensors). You can then set your desired temp and it will stay at that temp whether you're moving around or not.

You will have to do this once every day, as the thermostats automatically reset themselves to the default mode daily to save power.

Your are very welcome. :goodvibes My family and I love the ASMo!!! I theming appeals to the kids, the bus service is great, and IMO, ASMo has the best food court out of all three. Not too mention, it is what we can afford.;)

Hi,

I thought the AC issue was fine at the All Star Movies room we had. We just got back yesterday, Aug. 12. I personally would not stay at All Stars again, none of them, but not for room issues, etc., but for transportation issues. Almost all the time they send one bus for all three, and the buses are often late, overcrowded, etc. Each AS building should have its own. Period.

I didn't realize they didn't have their own buses....How long did you usually have to wait? They only send one bus at a time for all three resorts to share? That doesn't sound so good :scared1:
