I'm thinking of switching back to Air Canada for my trip in June.
I haven't flown them since 1999 or 2000, but their executive first "suites" look really tempting.....pretty much first class amenities for business class fares...

This is a demo of their "excutive first" (what they call their business class service) suite seats...
they look really nice...

and the services they claim to offer on the ground also look nice...

hmmmm......maybe i should switch back...
anybody flown their executive first international service recently?

It looks great and would be superb if I was travelling alone on a business trip.
However, holiday flights are always with family, the emphasis being on the "with" and the kind of segregation offered by these configurations would be, for us, unwelcome.

very good point...my trip in june will be solo, so i hadn't thought about that.....
i wonder if any of the seats face each other at all - for people traveling in couples.....i have to look at the seat configuration for when i travel with DH and/or the kids...

i just looked at the configuration - it's workable for couples since two of the rows sort of face each other - so you can be across from the person you're traveling with - sort of face to face at an angle across the aisle....
you can see it in the picture at the top of this link: http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/onboard/comfort_intexec.html

The seat config was 1 of the reasons we didn't book them for August, DW didn't like the layout. Other reason was flying from Heathrow, decided to wait for something from Manchester. Price was very tempting though, £1,150pp compared to Virgin at £811 for economy, we considered but still waiting.

yes, the fare caught my eye too...
i saw an ad about the suite seats, so i went into their site to check out the fares....really not bad at all...
they also have concierge service on the ground for exec.first passengers...though i don't know what i would need them for....

i guess it's something to consider...
i used to love flying them back when we did....they had lovely cabin crews.....always nice and accomodating...even in economy....

since i'm flying alone, those seats look especially inviting....no need to worry about drooling in your sleep next to some stranger... ;)
