We were checking for prices of flights from YYZ to MCO in June and I was shocked to see that AC only has 2 direct flights available each day. I remember seeing more flight options available when we went to WDW last September. Is this normal? Should we wait for a little longer to see if more flight options will open up?

TIA for any advice!:worship:

Hi Hon
I fly 2-4 times a year and have noticed less direct flights this year,I'm not sure why but have started checking West jets schedules also. I even flew out of Hamilton in Jan and loved it.
Good luck
Hugs Mel

We found out the hard way this year that Air Canada does not include any baggage in the ticket price. Price for bags is $25 each bag one way. What I thought was a $400 flight actually cost $450 if you have luggage. How many people travel without any luggage?

How close are you to Buffalo? We always fly outta Buffalo..usually on Southwest. Price is always a half to 3/4 LESS then what we would pay outta YYZ!

We encountered this last October. The initial flight schedule just had the 2 flights from YYZ to MCO (morning, evening) scheduled initially. In May, AC added a 3rd flight to the schedule (departing YYZ at 4:15pm).

It wouldnt surprise me if AC cut back on flights as most folks who fly out of YYZ have realized that you can get a full flight taxes in out of Buffalo for just the tax out of Toronto. Plus you don't have to deal with customs.

If AC has posted flights for that time of the year already, I highly doubt they will be adding more.

We got stuck for more than 2 hours at the border last time when we drove to Buffalo and DBf is slightly iffy about the idea of flying out from BUF. But with the ridiculous price and flight times from yyz (both AC and westjet), we might reconsider the option from BUF, especially when Southwest has 5 direct flights each day.

ahh...decisions, decisions...:confused3

Really..what bridge did you go over?
I go over 1-2 times a week and have never had a big delay like that..you just have to make sure you go over at the right time.. never go over mid day on a long weekend...go over 2 hours earlier if you have to!

We love flying out of Buffalo. You don't have to worry about customs..you just check your bags..zip through security and go to your terminal.

We love the airport..much smaller and you can actually park right infront !!

There is 3 people in my travel party... we travel either January or April to Disney. The worst we've ever paid is $670 round trip, taxes in , non-stop for the 3 of us...the best we've paid is $448 total for the 3 of us... you can't beat the price difference!!!!

Have to disagree with the bolded section above. I would think that most people flying through YYZ don't actually live in Toronto. Most would connect through Toronto. If the direct flights from Toronto are so few, that would mean, I would think, that most people would have two stopovers on the way to MCO. That's crazy.... and part of the reason we never fly AC to MCO ... who wants to stop in Toronto and deal with customs there if you can deal with customs at home, fly through a US stopover locaton instead and meet your luggage in MCO without having to collect it at YYZ

Ditto the poster that suggested WestJet. We've flown a few times in Feb and Mar when they have direct from here to MCO and it was wonderful. They must have some direct from YYZ as most flights from Ottawa, at other times of the year, stopover at YYZ on the way to MCO. You could also try a US based carrier but I expect they'd have a US stopover at one of their hubs.

We bought the tickets for Southwest from BUF - MCO last weekend! It was $155 one-way, and guess what - when I go in to check the prices it came down even more! Now it's at $124 one-way.

Guess I shouldn't have panicked last week when the direct air incident happen and I was worried that people will now switch to SWA.:headache:

We called SWA now and got credit on our account, that's the hint for me to plan for another trip to WDW so I could use up the credits!:rolleyes1
