Air Canada - Policies?

I have a question about Air Canada. I booked a non-refundable flight a couple of months ago for a flight within Canada. The price is lower now. I am assuming that Air Canada will not refund me the difference from the original purchase price to the price I found today, and that it is just the luck of the draw. Am I correct? I just wanted to make sure...

I would call Air Canada customer service. I think it all depends on what option you picked when you booked your ticket. Even if your ticket says "Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable" there are, I believe, two options "No changes, no cancellation" or the "Ability to change or cancel flight (fees apply)" on even Tango fares. What they may have to do is cancel your flight, issue you a credit for future travel, minus any change fee, and rebook you on the same flight.

Worth asking for sure...they will likely assess fee tho which might negate the savings? Depends on the price drop?

Thanks everyone!! I was pretty sure I was out of luck; I just thought I should check to see in case there was a loophole! I crossmatched our exact flight numbers, and they weren't the sale flights anyway (I was going by times last time and thought it was our flight on sale). Lesson learned though, AC does come through with sales (sometimes)! Thanks again!

It used to be fairly common practice to get the difference as a credit - or even in cash if you were lucky. But it's gone the way of pillows, blankets, free food, "not looking too closely at the luggage scale", etc... (I could just go on & on, couldn't I?)
