I'm travelling with my family next week. Does anyone know if I can check in the entire family using the Air Canada iPhone app, and get all of their boarding passes in my Passbook?

Suggestion from a friend who is a frequent AC traveller is to check everyone in using the iPhone app, but then print out boarding passes at the kiosk at the airport. Boarding the plane goes a lot easier when each person has their own boarding pass rather than flicking through a bunch on the phone.

Hey ccudmore,

I was recently had the same question and was in the same situation.

Air Canada limits the number of electronic boarding passes (including Passbook) to bookings of 4 or less. So if you're like me with a husband, wife, and two kids - then you're in the clear. If you're more than 4, you'll need to print your boarding pass, or see an agent/kiosk at the airport.

As for getting all the Passbooks on 1 device, I wouldn't recommend it, nor does Air Canada allow it. When completing your mobile check in, you'll need to enter 4 individual email addresses and you'll be sent be sent 4 unique emails with the Passbook link for each passenger.

The reason I wouldn't advise it, is because if there is an issue at security or you become separated - then only you have everyone's boarding pass. If you get held up at security for any reason, how will you give the other passengers their boarding pass? Security won't be too fond of you passing an electronic device back and forth.

EDIT: Instead of lining up and seeing an agent/kiosk the day of your travel, you can also do a web check-in from aircanada.com which will give you a print-at-home boarding pass in advance for up to 9 people. For most flights, check-in opens 24 hours before flight, and closes 1 hour before.

Just some food for thought! Safe travels, friend!

I want to second this. As a group of 5 traveling, I tried this on our last flight and it was more time consuming and frustrating than each just carrying their own ticket. I won't be using it again. In theory it's good, or as a solo traveler, but I won't use it again for my family trips.
