we are flying out of Pearson with Air Canada early morning I was wondering if its ok to bring snacks on the plane for my kids in the carry on, I dont want to pay for the airline food just thinking something like granola bars or oatmeal to go bars, is that ok?
Also for my youngest can I bring bottles of milk?

Thanks

You will be able to bring and eat your own food no problem.

As for the milk, I am not sure how that will fit in with the restrictions on liquids. I am thinking there may be an exception for milk for very young ones, but I am vague on the details. They do provide free beverages on the plane though.

great thanks so much for the info, I suppose I can just bring an empty sippy or bottle and give her whatever they have be it juice or milk, I will make sure to give her a milk just before we boar plane, then im sure she wont mind juice until we get ther its only a 3 hour flight I think.

no problem bringing milk/juice/water/pop on the plane, as long as you purchase it AFTER you go through security.

No problem. Any liquids you bring with you to the airport will have to be finished before you cross through security. Once on the other side of security, you could buy something from the shops and be allowed to keep it for the rest of your trip. Otherwise if you don't want to buy anything, just wait until beverage service on the plane. They do have milk (I've never asked for any to drink, but I do know they offer it for coffee so they must have some), as well as Minute Maid apple and orange juice. Bringing the sippy cup is a great idea.

And yes, the flight is 3 hours.

Have fun!!!

ok so its just the drinks that you cant bring on unless you purchace it after you are through security? what about snacks, can I bring granola bars or do I have to purchace those after security too? I was going to just pack som things in my carry on.

You can bring granola bars, etc, from home - those can get through security. It's just anything liquid that can't get through security.

Keep this in mind for other things in your purse/carry on too - you may bring small containers of liquids/gells (less than 100 ml each) as long as you can fit them all in one zip lock baggie (a sandwich sized one)... have this prepared before you get to the airport to avoid a delay. Normally I will have hand sanitizer, eye drops, lip gloss, toothpaste in my carry on and I make sure to put these items in my ziplock baggie.. no problems.

oh my thanks I never even though about my purse, lol I will have to go though it to take some things out before our trip! and bring a baggie just incase.

If you can find the toddler size juice boxes (mini-juice boxes), you can bring those from home -- as long as you put them in your liquid baggie allowance. I have even packed applesauce tubes in the liquid baggie too. (We flew to DL last year from Toronto, and that would have been a LONG flight without food ;) )

I always bring snacks on a carry-on bag. You can even make your own sandwiches and bring them too... or muffins, cookies, crackers, raisins, etc. Whatever keeps the kids happy and quiet :goodvibes

We always bring granola bars for snacks, it's very handy. As many have said, you can buy some milk after you pass security. For the plane, I always prefer get water for hydration in the plane. When we land, we usually get them some milk.

(when my kids were 1 or 2, I used to bring them sippy cups for easy drinking, it is a great idea:thumbsup2 )
