we will be traveling to disneyland in early may on air canada.
has anyone flown them with a stroller other than an umbrella stroller?
i am taking my BOB stroller. and really want it for around the airport and before we get our luggage in LA
everytime i have flown we have bad luck with delays and end up waiting forever.
will they allow me to gate check it?
and what about a car seat?
please please tell me they will allow my stroller:worship:

From aircanada.com-
Stroller policy

Children may be transported in their strollers throughout any airport Air Canada serves.

Air Canada strongly recommends the use of small collapsible umbrella type strollers (see examples below), which may be checked at the gate to be delivered to you at the aircraft door at the end of your flight.
Because gate facilities in airports are not designed to accommodate them, large, heavy strollers will need to be checked in and will count as one piece of baggage toward the maximum number of checked bags allowed by your fare type. Large strollers are also subject to space limitations, and there is a risk that they cannot be accommodated in the aircraft.

A child restraint device (car seats, booster seats*) counts toward your baggage allowance when transported as checked baggage, unless the approved device is required onboard for seating the infant or child in his or her own paid seat.

Hope that helps!

When our daughters were young we had a large double stroller, and we flew with it on Air Canada several times. We got "gate check" service. At the gate, they put a tag on it and take it away just before you board. They then bring up to the gate after you deplane (right outside the aircraft doors). It always worked pretty smoothly and we rarely had to wait long - if at all - for it on the other end. All no charge, btw.

I should have mentioned, our car seats were included too, because they needed the car seats for the stroller (it was a graco duoglider). We never had problems (i.e. waiting) with them.

They have changed their policies...we too used to take car seats and they didn't count as luggage. They do now. Also, I asked if we'd be able to take our double stroller as a checked bag--we have to take it to the airport to see, but sounds like it's too big. They are really cracking down on what they are letting on as strollers to be gate checked. So not good. :(

That's terrible. We would have been hooped without that stroller. That's Air Canada for you.

I prefer WestJet. They're really good about that stuff.
