This used to tear my DS up too. OK, as Josh is leaving on the raft to go back to the mainland, Buddy is barking and trying to swim to him and Josh is yelling at him to stay and go away. It's a tearjerker. But Josh feels as if he is better off there than with the man/clown that is trying to take him back. Then they show Josh at the school gym with his team playing the game, and show Buddy showing up. The bad guy shows up. The issue goes to court and the judge says that Buddy can decide who he wants to stay go to. They go outside the courthouse and Josh is on one side and the Clown on the other with a rolled up newspaper. (remember all the papers Buddy buried) So they each start calling Buddy. He starts walking towards Josh, but then turns towards the Clown, much to everyones surprise and then lurches and ripes the paper out of the Clowns hand (he was being very obnoxious as he was calling him with it, slapping his had with it). So it was obvious that he had been ugly to Buddy as an owner and that was and that was why Buddy grapped the paper and tore it up, then he ran to Josh and jumped on him and they united and it was a wonderful ending. We are big fans, as you can tell, all of the Airbuds have someone trying to do the wrong thing but the right thing always wins. Great movies! Hope that helps!
