We are renting DVC this trip, staying AKL-Kidani and BRV, with a stay at the cabins at FW in the middle. The kiddos will be staying on the sleeper sofa at Kidani and BRV, and the bunk beds at FW. I have read several reviews that it is a toss-up on comfort for the sleeper sofas, and I am looking for opinions on air beds vs mattress toppers as a solution. We are flying, so I would have the item shipped to the resort.

How old are your kids? Mine are 6 and 4 and slept on the pull out at BRV with no complaints. Are you getting a studio or 1-bedroom? The studio would probably be very tight on floor space for an air mattress.

We did a cheap air queen matress. We did a trip to walmart turkey lake for food and other stuff. The mattress was 15 and the inflator was 9.00 plugs into wall. The kids liked it it was easy to lay up. We never have good experiences with sofa beds. Most of the time I wonder about how clean they are. We brought the pump home with us left the air mattress in the closet. I could have used the vac to blow it up but I wanted to make sure cause I couldn't go back to walmart easily.

The kids are 4 and 11, and we are renting a studio (just the four of us).

I was thinking it would be too much of a gamble to not have a back-up plan. I want everyone to be comfortable and well-rested each day. Were you in a studio or larger?

We had a one bedroom, It fit just right moved the table over.... I sat it up in the day.
our boys are mixed ages. Didnt seem right to mix them.
With all that walking you dont want tired kids.

I have slept on the pull out couch at BWV 1bd room many times and found it to be very comfortable.

I am not sure if the studio couch is different than the 1bd couch.

Kids are fine on the sleeper sofas. It's larger people who weigh more that find them awful.

My teens have been sleeping on the sleeper sofas since they were preschoolers. They've never complained about them being uncomfortable.
