air bake cookie sheets

Does anyone use them? What experiences have you had - are they better than normal sheets? I bought 4 yesterday, but before I open them I thought I'd ask your opinions.

I didn't buy the AirBake brand, I bought Food Network, but they're the kind with a layer of air.

I have had mine for years... My Grandma got them for me when I was first married so we are talking 17 years. I haven't had other sheets las that long. She has since passed but I think of her everytime I make cookies. I'm n ot sure that they make a huge difference in baking reults though. All I can say is they are durable and for that they are worth it. Enjoy!

I have the airbake brand and love them normally with making cookies the cookies on the outer edge are more cooked then the cookies in the middle with normal baking sheets not with airbake they all cook evenly

I dislike them for the fact that you cannt put them in the dishwasher, I have one that is warpped, think it was from to much heat i hope you didnt get the non stick black ones because then you cannt scrub them either

Love 'em.

They weren't cheap. But, I've saved enough burnt cookie bottoms to more than offset just recycling my old cookie sheets.

I have been using mine for 20 years... love them. I put a piece of parchment paper on between cookie dough and sheet - makes clean up a breeze and still get wonderfully crisp cookies.

To me, I don't see any difference in them especially if you use parchment paper. Having said that, I have used the ones I have for years. I bought them thinking they would be so much better than others. Lower quality regular cookie sheets can warp and at least the air bake ones don't.

I love mine

Just remember never to let them sit in water! It will get between the layers and ruin the cookie sheet. Speaking from experience and we unfortunately lost the largest of the air bake cookies because of that.....

I've had my AirBake cookie sheets for about 10 years now and I love them!!

Like PP mentioned, don't soak them. I always let them cool completely and then hand wash them.

I bake a lot and I do not like them.

They add cooking time to recipes and some "fancy" cookies never come out. They were a gift from my father in law for Christmas one year and were in the Spring garage sale the same year.

I actually look for the old fashioned Fire King cookie sheets at garage sales, nothing is better for a delicate cookie.

Another question though, when you use parchment paper, do you only use it once, or do you use it over and over (just for that day, I don't mean for months). That too is expensive, especially if you have to throw it away each time.

And while I have your attention... anyone ever use baking mats?

You do not have to replace the parchement sheet until all your cookies are baked. I use two cookie sheets, both lined with parchment, and just keep rotating them until I've baked all my cookie dough. A roll of parchment lasts a long time and I bake just about every week. Well worth the money. Oh - I don't have the airbakes, just regular old cookie sheets, and my cookies come out perfect every time!

The only time I replace the parchment after every batch/baking is if the cookies are really messy. I have a recipe from my grandmother for crescent nut rolls that are rolled in sugar, they are messy when baking!

OMG I've been putting mine in the dishwasher for 18 years! I had no idea you weren't supposed to. That being said, I love them, and if they haven't been ruined or warped after 18 years going in the dishwasher them I see no reason that I should stop!

I also love my Airbake cookie sheets, I have used the same ones for about 10 years and they still look like new(and I bake alot). The cookies bake evenly and clean up is so easy.

Really love the air bake sheets too. I also put them under any other pan I want to use and that works great- like under a glass pan I want to bake a cake in-no burnt bottoms!
