Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

I just counted the last spreadsheet that I sent out. I count 23 adults (counting Koren) and 15 kids.

I can resend the last spreadsheet if anyone needs it.

OPPS!!! I just recounted. I agree with Ladyw/the tramp. I got 23 adults and 15 kids.

I'm online illegally at work :scared: - but I just could not stand it to see what you guys have been up to! I'm have never been with so many type A personalities in my life!:yay: It's nice to have company!!!
jedijill, Please resend the final spreadsheet of the FE participants - all the talk about 21, 23, 16, 15 whatever has my mind boggled!
I'll be back tonight - enjoy your afternoon!;)

Yes please send it to me again Jill. I don't want to leave anyone out of the fun! I am so sorry everyone! I did not mean to boggle the minds! Thanks for putting up with me!:flower3:

OK, I want my cabin number. Orbitz is now showing cat 9 (can choose room), 8 gty, and 6 gty as available. 2 days ago there was supposedly nothing available and the cruise was listed as sold out on 3 different sites!

They are definitely doing the room shuffle. Ah well....we will be where we will be.....

I just sent out a copy via email. I'm going off my copy that was at work so a couple of changes might not be on here but the total count should be correct. If someone sees something that is incorrect please let me know and I'll get this updated.

I just checked and nothing is showing up as available on the Disney site.

I just got the new FE list. I was missing people on my old list. I am so relieved! For a minute there I was thinking I needed to go back to DS's 4th grade math class!!
I am all ready to buy gifts now! Thanks Jill!

Glad to hear everyone is getting ready and excited for the cruise.

For some reason we are not, maybe because Jan is a busy month and we have alot going on or because we just spent 2 weeks at WDW in Dec or because we never went on a cruise before. Don't get me wrong we are excited but not like when we go to Disney World. I htink when we get thru Jan and get closer we will be.

Well my daughter is going on the potty but not at the point where she will be able to pull her pants down and go herself and everything. So I switched her back to Flounders. We have not reserved any times as we will probably wing it. But will see if she want to go to the other one for the bigger kids and just check on her every hour or so. I have read people have done that, so we will check with the CM's when we get there. Because she will not go in her pants she will just hold it, but I don't want her holding for long if at all.

We have decided to stay on board while in Nassau. And just experience the ship. And when we bounceback this fall then maybe check out Nassau.

We are not participating in the FE's but hopefully will be able to meet some of you while on board.

George,

My husband was not excited for his first DCL either. He had never cruised before, so just didn't really care. He was excited about vacation but not about the cruise.

This time around however is so much different. He is more excited I think than any of us. Well, I think were at a tie. You will have a great time, and come fall you'll be just like the rest of us. Doing the FE's checking disboards every day and your reservations everyday too. Then trying to rearrange so you can do more!!!!

One way to handle this is to go yourself to the club every 60-90 minutes and take her to the bathroom. That way, there are no accidents, but she is having fun playing. Of course, she also MUST go before you will let her play there. Generally the CMs are quite good about the first accident. After that, they question whether the child is really ready to be considered potty trained. They are quite used to the "just 3" or just under 3 who is basically trained but can't handle the clothing, and are good about parents coming in as suggested above. Obviously, the other approach is to only leave her in the club for 60-90 minutes.

Bottom line, don't rule out the use of the Oceaneer's Club if she is basically trained.

I think the meet is scheduled at 3pm at the Goofy pool. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. We would love to meet you guys!

Thanks everyone.

Yeah we still have a month and things can still change as far as potty abilities. But right now I am just glad Iwont be buying anymore diapers ( I hope) She is really good about not going in her pants. So we are good there. The thing is with kids they get excited and their mind wanders and forget about certain things. So we need to mindful for that. Plus I don't want to really have to pay $6 an hour. So when we board I am sure we can talk to someone and get a feel for how it all works. I don't want to be dishonest with them. But as you said they have to be used to the just three age. She turns three this sunday, so she really will be in the just three area.

Thanks again and looking forward to sharing a drink with you all.

One more thing... LOL

I noticed in some recent posts people where posting about rooms not being confirmed. How do you know they are or are not confirmed. The same room number is listed on my online reservation page as my original documents. We are in a Cat 4. so not sure if that makes a difference. And actually the room number doesn't either just was looking to see if on my reservation page it said confirmed or anything and nothing was mentioned.

Thanks

No room is absolutely certain until you board. However, what people (like me!) are probably talking about is that we booked a gty cabin and don't have a cabin number yet. When people are saying their cabin is confirmed, they probably mean that they can look on the web site and see their cabin number when previously they had a gty.

If you have booked a specific cabin and get upgraded, you usually get a phone call offering the upgrade (when this happened to us, our TA called and we had 24 hours to accept or decline it). If you have a gty, you will not get a phone call--you will see your cabin number on line (ours isn't posted yet...usually they appear at 28-30 days out). With a gty, you take what you get. You have no option to accept or decline.

If you have a gty, it can be changed up to the time of boarding, but this happens only rarely after the luggage tags come out (about 2 weeks before sailing).
