Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

We are leaving Friday Night around 6ish. We have to stop in Lexington to drop off our puppy to my dad's. Will probably leave there around 8ish. That should put us in Port Canaveral about 10 or 11ish Saturday Morning. Then we are spending the day at Kennedy Space Center.

CEME- My husband plans the majority of our trips! He's on here contributing. We just overwhelmed the board with too much nail talk! :)

We are driving to Nashville Friday night and spending the night. We will fly out of Nashville on Saturday and arrive somewhere around 3:00. Staying at the Country Inn and Suites. Anyone else staying there?

I need help! Does anyone remember which post or page had the links to the name badges that *I think* Pjpoohbear made?? I'm trying to print magnets and I can't find it. And if it isn't Pjpoohbear, I humbly apologize as my short term memory has apparently failed me like Arizona's defense.

Jill

Congrats Pittsburgh! Great game and rockin' halftime show!

Here you are Jill.
Wahoo on those steelers huh! What a game! We're all exhausted here today.:o
We're leaving out of NYC Saturday, arriving around 3 in Orlando for our drive to the Cape! Can't believe it's this close, this week is going to fly by :Pinkbounc

OK....I'm home now and WE HAVE HEAT! It doesn't take much to make me happy.

I really think that God and the health department are working together--I really should throw away everything in my refrigerator once a year or so and clean the whole thing. Hee hee. The fridge is done. It smelled bad. I went to the grocery and bought milk and apple juice. We ate out last night. Today I need to tackle the freezer...but I might do the getting ready for the cruise instead.

All the stuff about door decorations, magnets, making pretty, etc. may have to go out the window. THere's just too much to do around here to get back to "normal." We can't get in or out of the garage till the tree man comes, and that could be weeks. Good thing I put the car at the end of the garage--never would have gotten it up the hill if I hadn't.

For the person who asked about KY roads--the roads are fine. The interstates are completely clear. The problem is power lines and phone lines down all over the state. They're saying it will be 3-4 more days till all of Louisville is restored and up to 6 weeks before some rural areas are finished. If you get off the "beaten path" you'll find limbs blocking some roads, but stick to anything with an interstate or state hwy. designation and you'll be ok. You know you're in trouble when your city is on the national news!

So....I'm good. Cleaning and packing....

As to whomever was worrying about 11 being too late to get to port--what do you need to do when you board? If you don't need any reservations, 11 is plenty early. If you are trying to get Palo or something, it may be late. Yes, your wife can check in for the family if you drop her off.

I'd love two of the "cut out and magnitized" Mickey heads. I don't know if I'll get to a craft store for magnets. Ah well, Saturday is coming no matter what I have finished or not!

Katheryn, glad to hear from you and that all is ok. You really deserve this vacation!

The weather channel web site is saying high of 78 and mostly sunny :sunny: for PC on Sunday! :thumbsup2
Looks like we're gonna have a warm spell! Wahoo! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Welcome home! Heat is a great thing. :)

I'll be more than happy to share some of the magnets. Consider them shared. :) I can bring some of my magnet tape with me if you want to quickly "make" some magnets on board. :)

You and Koren certainly deserve a decorated door. Any favorite characters? I would be happy to make some magnets for you.

We might arive very close to the same time on Saturday. I am torn on the leaving time but with the weather they are predicting tomorrow and what not I would rather have some extra day light driving hours. I believe I said it a page or so back. In Nov we left Chicago at 2:30 pm and it was perfect driving all the way and got to Disney at about 10 or so. But with this trip I am leaning more around 11 or 12 should get us to the port at around8 or 9 I believe if the weather and roads cooperate. I am hoping that our room at the radisson will be ready because I will need some sleep, if not I guess I'll be sleeping by the pool or the beach til our room is ready.

Then we are planning on eating at grills around 4:30 pm. then after maybe hitting Cocco Beach and Ron Jon's or something. SO if anyone is at Grill's its hard to miss us as our 3 year old daughter has pink glasses come say Hi!

If anyone out there has time, the one door decoration I'd really like to have is my daughter (Koren)'s name tag which some lovely person put up on the name post--it notes that it is her 18th birthday cruise. If anyone out there wants to volunteer to get it printed and magnetized, I'd be totally delighted.

I'm really feeling like there is hope for all of this--each little thing that gets cleaned up is HUGE. I'm doing laundry now and will start packing this afternoon. I've decided that the cruise essentials have to take priority and I'll deal with the house as I have the time and energy. It sounds stupid, but I stored the sleeping bags in the basement (out of the living room). Just getting them washed and put away has made a big difference in my mental state. I'm also delighted that we're driving this trip so my packing will not require a lot of decisions--luggage space is not a critical issue.

We're going to have "Sugar" a traveling teddy bear with us on the trip. Sugar is a project we're doing for a fellow dis-er....take a picture of the bear from each state/country she can visit and return her with the pics to her owner. The kids in her class are studying geography based on where Sugar travels. Maybe Sugar will pose for a photo with all her Dis buddies on the Wonder!

Thanks for everyone's support! I'm just so glad we were back in our home before school started. I just couldn't picture sending my daughter to school while she was sleeping on a church floor. (I know, she's a big kid, but she's still MY kid).

We are planning to eat at Grills and well, so we'll keep a look out! Not sure what time, but we would like to be there to watch the magic leave around
5 ish!

PJ :thanks: You are awesome!!!

I just checked weather.com, looks like we will have clear skys for :drive: Thursday. I did not notice any bad weather along our route.

Any fellow Mixed Martial Arts fans? We want to find a place to watch the fights on Saturday night. Maybe TV at the Radisson will get Spike channel.

Busy making magnets as we speak!!! Checked Disneycruise.com for movie list but couldn't find it this time. I know I found it before and the previous posts of the titles was correct at that time.

Have a great crazy day!!! May we all have the energy of Tigger!!!:tigger:

This will be OUR view on Sunday as we wave!!!!!

So good news for me. :) Since I worked most of the weekend due to being on call, my manager is giving me a comp day. So I decided to use it on Friday and SW was able to book me on the evening flight (for free since I'm flying on a Rapid Reward ticket!). Now I have to find a reasonable hotel near the hotel Friday night. Any suggestions?

I'm so excited...now I will have all day Saturday at WDW!

Jill

Ok, We are leaving tomorrow!!! I hope I don't forget anything. I have a huge to do list to get done, and then who cares...we are headed to WDW!! pixiedust: Have a great week....c u onboard!!
