Ahoy November 12th, 2009 Cruisers!!

no, I sure haven't
guess my world isn't that small after all:rotfl:
the coincidence just struck me as odd I suppose. the Art museum was cool tho...
I'm sorry everyone, :guilty:I guess I was having a moment.:rolleyes1

OK back to topic! SO! Any other good tips? Is anyone else considering booking another cruise while onboard? If so, which one? And is there any more news about airfare?

Yep! We're rebooking on board. :thumbsup2 Although I haven't decided when yet! I'm thinking either a 7 day sometime next summer (after I'm back and rested up from the Cambodia trip) or maybe wait until 2011 and book on the new ship.

What is everyone else thinking?

And Annette, don't worry - if you haven't heard of where I live, no big deal - it's hardly a little dot on the map. Speaking of the museum, my sister is woking on her Master's of Fine Arts and she takes classes there. She even has two of her paintings displayed there!

I am going to consider rebooking. Was thinking August of 2010(although I haven't started looking at dates/itineraries or anything). I always go to WDW in November, but my dd will be in 5th grade that year and they do this trip to camp before Easter. The camp is not very clean and we dont' want her to go, so instead of her making up school work, going to go that week somewhere(April 2011) Thinking of maybe even Disneyland and spend time in California. So, to make a long story short, I will need some disney between November of 2009 and April of 2011. Do you think they would offer a bounceback on the 3 day(to those like me who are first timers???)

You will probably boo me on this... but I went on a cruise in my 20's and did not enjoy it(oh no, i hear the groans.....) Hoping 20 years, having my beautiful girls with me and my love for disney will make me fall in love with disney cruise line...... I am sure you agree that I will.

Scootch,

Do you think they would offer a bounceback on the 3 day(to those like me who are first timers???)

I really don't know what DCL will do as far as offers go...if the current economic situation remains the same (or gets worse) I would imagine they would continue giving incentives. They might not do the bouncebacks, maybe some sort of different type, like kids sail free. You just never know.

Trust me - you will ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CRUISE! I went on a Carnival cruise back in 1997, and although it was fun (simply because it was a senior trip and I was 18!) at the time, I'll never cruise that line again. But DCL is COMPLETELY different. Disney magic is sprinkled all over the ship. As a mother, part of the fun and magic is experincing the cruise through my child!

That is pretty cool about your sister Harmony! It was a really fun place to explore as a kid.
Oh I SO wish they would offer bouncebacks again! I think that those were probably a one time deal tho. But I would be all over that in a hot minute if they did! What a great deal!
I would love to do another cruise on one of the new ships too! Don't know if it will be a 4 or 7 day. I would love to double dip but they only offer those in summer and I don't want to go south in the summer. :sad2: Some of the Eastern Carribean itineraries (sp?) look really interesting. Has anyone done them? We've done the 7 day Western and it was SO fun:yay: DH does not want to repeat tho.
I agree with Harmony,Amy. See how DCL compares and how the girls love it. I am sure that they will want to come back. You may find yourself doing the land/sea :thumbsup2

I could be wrong - but what I've read here on the boards is that the Dreams (the new ship set to sail in 2011) will replace the Wonder and follow the Wonder's itineraries. Apparantly this means that the Dreams will sail the 3 & 4 day cruises while the Wonder moves to a new port. And the second new ship (is it Fantasy?) will replace the Magic in 2012 and move to Europe.

So if we plan to wait until 2011 when the new ship arrives we'll simple book a back to back (a 4 day and a 3 day right after).

So much to think about!!! ;)

oooooooo a back 2 back!!!!!!
what an absolutely BRILLIANT idea!!!::yes:: there is a double dip the fun way!
I wonder how I can talk DH into that...:scratchin
That is exactly how I read that too, Harmony. I can't wait to see the new ships! Wouldn't it be a fun job to help design them?

Off to the beach, we decided to leave a day early. See ya on the 15th.

Scootch...have a great time at the Beach!!

Hey everyone...back from our 7 day Western on the Magic!! :thumbsup2 What a great time we had! In Key West we walked around and shopped/ate/drank. Ate lunch at Sloppy Joes, went to Margaritaville, stopped off at Irish Kevins and ended at the Hogs Breath Saloon. Hey Annette...when we were walking around we saw Starbucks and immediately both Laurie and I said your name!! :lmao: We went on a bus tour in Grand Cayman the highlight of which was the Turtle farm :). Cozumel was beautiful. We did a Jeep tour that I would highly recommend...it was truly that good!! :thumbsup2 We laid on the beach and drank at the Heads Up bar at Castaway Cay. We left it in perfect condition for our November cruise with all of you!! :woohoo: Also on one of our days at Sea we did the Spa Villas....WOW, WOW, WOW!! :lmao:

Our servers were just ok...no where close to what we've had in the past. Food was great of course, the Cruise Director Brent was fantastic and the Activities Crew was Awesome!! They did a skit on the last night in Rockin Bar D that was hilarious. The adult entertainment had my wife crying...it was really really good. Magic is great but Wonder is our first love... :lovestruc, LOL. Having said all that we are actually really really looking forward to our November Cruise with all of you! :cool1:

Welcome back mem22! I'm glad you had a great time. I can't wait to see pictures. Are you planning to write a trip report?

By the way, I finally booked our flight down to Orlando. I waited and waited for a good deal, and the waiting paid off. I got it for $59 per person! Woot! :thumbsup2

I'm still lurking for a good price on the return flight. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

:cheer2: WELCOME EVERYONE!!! :cheer2:

Nice to see we are building quite a fun group! 126 more days....:yay:

We booked our flight to Orlando with SW for $79. We are still waiting..impatiently...for the rates to go down for the return flight...not that we are anxious to get back! :rotfl:

We also booked a one night stay at the Radisson at the Port. I've read both bad and good reports, but...it's only one night, not the main vacation. And for $99 a night...I'll take it!:thumbsup2

Next is rental car....so glad I have time to do this stuff at work...lol.:surfweb:

Still working on the scrapbook...just brings back sooo many good memories of our 1st cruise! I need to buy a bigger memory card for the camera...lol...

Where are yooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu?????????? :goodvibes:

Need to pick your brain..if you don't mind...:worship:

Didn't you stay at the Radisson?:confused3:

What beach did you drive to, the morning of the cruise?:beach:

Was it Jetty Park? :drive:

Did you eat at Fishlips? :fish: :stir:

How was it?:scratchin

Appreciate any help!!! :worship:

Hey Wendy,

We've stayed at the Radisson our past two cruises one in February and one last week. We've never had a problem there. Like you said, it's only one night. What works best for us is to rent a car from Hertz at the airport, drive to the Radisson to check in and drop off our bags and depending on what time it is either go to the liquor store for our carry-ons :lmao: or go over to the Port to eat. We've eaten at Grills and Fishlips, both are nice but we're going back to Fishlips this cruise. The next morning we get up, get any incidentals we may have forgotten at area drug stores/7-Eleven and I drop off DW (Laura) and DS (Michael) at the Terminal, drive over to Hertz (which is next to the hotel) and they drive me back to the terminal. The Radisson is like a mile from the Terminal...you can see the ships from the hotel. It works great for us. The Radisson has a really nice pool, outside bar and last week had entertainment at the bar.

I would totally love to meet at the pool area or Fishlips...it's up to everyone as to what they would like to do. Last week one of the women and her daughters wore lime green toe nail polish...we spotted them right away!:thumbsup2 One of the women also made and sent these little lime green ribbons to be pinned on for anyone that wanted them. We met people at the Radisson and the terminal that way. :)

Anyway....just rambling....can't wait to go already!!:yay:

Mike

Where are yooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu?????????? :goodvibes:

I'm here! I'm here! I've just been really busy...packing to go camping this weekend...and...cheating on my DCL vacation by planning a trip to the Outer Banks next summer. :rolleyes1

Need to pick your brain..if you don't mind...:worship:

No we didn't. We stayed at the Motel 6 and it was HORRIBLE! Cheap, but horrible. It was D-I-R-T-Y. There were red splotches all over the bathroom floor that looked like blood :scared: so I freaked out and called the front desk to ask for another room. They said they were full and all they could do was send housekeeping to clean it up. Frustrated, I obliged. And waited...and waited...and waited. 45 minutes later (and I was FUMING by then ) the cleaning lady came and tried to clean it up. Luckly it was only hair dye, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. By the end of the whole ordeal I was too tired from traveling all day that I passed out in the bed and tried to forget about it!

What beach did you drive to, the morning of the cruise?:beach:

We went to the public access for Cocoa Beach. I can't remember the exact road that took us down there, but it was the street either right before or right after the Ron Jon's store. No matter what street you take, as long as you head EAST you'll hit the ocean. :cool2:

Was it Jetty Park? :drive:

Haven't been there, but I'm pretty sure it's a campground.

Did you eat at Fishlips? :fish: :stir:

No - we ate at Rusty's and would go there again in a heartbeat. It was a great place! Good food, you can sit outside on the deck and watch the ships pass while listening to live music. Plus many charter fishing boats dock there so you can watch the day's take when they come back in.

Those are both GREAT ideas! We should figure something like this out for us! We're getting to be such a big group.
