I'm planning to take the family to disney this september and I would love to stay in the animal kingdom resort but it appears that you cant go and stay there for only three nights with 6 people (3 adults and 3kids ) and stay in one large suite and I dont want to split up the pack or not stay there because it was the only resort we could get all of the kids to agree on and the adults are excited about it too! dose anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?:confused3

Get 2 rooms that connect. It will feel like one giant room with the door opened. With small children they will guarantee a connecting door, just make sure it's written as a guarantee on your reservation.

Is the number of people that's the issue?
If so, why not just book 2 regular rooms.
I often book the room itself, and buy my tkts @ AAA.
Don't know if that is an option for you.
AKL is my favorite of all the Dis resorts.:thumbsup2

There are 2-bedroom villas that sleep 8 at AKV - the DVC resort portion of AKL. The villas are located in the main hotel building and have a full kitchen, jacuzzi, washer/dryer - all sorts of amenities. You can book through CRO as you would for regular AKL room, or rent a reservation from a DVC member.

They will not guarantee connecting rooms when there is a 3 adult involved.

thanks to everyone for your help!!! I'm getting together with my mom this weekend to make plans! what do you all think of the meal tickets? are they really worth it?

Disney will try to keep your party in rooms adjoining if not connecting make sure when you make the reservations you request that the rooms be connecting or adjoing have a great time I really wish we could stay at AKL it would be a dream come true for us.

Disney is offering the Free Dining as long as your trip begins by Sept 20 and you purchase at least a 1 day pass for each person going. You also must stay a minimum of 3 nights. It is worth it for sure since it's free! Just a thought to consider.

By meal tickets, do you mean a dining plan? If so, I'm in favor of it. Yes, it used to be much better. But it's still easier than trying to figure out where to eat. If you are going in Sept. make your dining ADR's ASAP. With free dining there will not be a great selection left.
