\ WHEN WILL IT STOP?? lol. :confused3

unfortunately, with a wedding and a family, it never will.:sad2: We have had our date set for almost a year now and we're still hearing some things about it. Whether with the wedding date, how you word the invitations, how formal/informal you make everything, etc....there will always be strife between you and your guests/family. Just know that its part of the planning, we're all going through it with you, and in the end the only thing people will remember is how beautiful you looked and how happy they are that you and your DF are married & in love.

Go with the date YOU want. my MOH is taking off no matter what date we pick, and to me, thats all that matters. If my family can take off monthly to go on vacations with eachother, then they can hold off on vacationing if my wedding is that important (and if its not, then theyre not there)
Ive grown a back bone! They should have a smiley for that! lol

SORRY :guilty: IF I WAS A LITTLE HARSH EARLIER, JUST DO WHAT YOU WANT DON'T LET OTHERS CONTROL YOUR WEDDING!! ITS YOUR WEDDING YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE FAIR TO EVERYONE! ITS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FIANCE AND THATS ALL THAT SHOULD MATTER!!!!

OH YEAH DID I TELL YOU MY WEDDING WAS ON SUPERBOWL SUNDAY AT 730PM :scared1: (KICKOFF WAS AT LIKE 6:45) JUST IMAGINE THE CRAP I GOT FR PEOPLE BUT IN THE END THEY ALL CAME! :woohoo: (THANKFULLY MY DJ KEPT THEM ALL INFORMED OF THE SCORE):cool1: :cheer2:

I think it's very thoughtful that you're trying to work with everyone. In the end it has to be up to you, but this is your family and they'll always be there, so why start off on a bad note?

About the summer wedding thing, we've been to Disney/Florida several times in late April & early May. It's always been beautiful and very summery without the daily summer thunderstorms that florida is known for. I have heard that once June hits the rain can too. One year not long ago it rained every day the first week of June. Every day, all day. I felt so bad for people who had their vacations then!

Our wedding was June 1st in New Jersey and it was HOT.

I understand your point that you've changed the date for this person and so you need to at least try for this person. However, you may never end up picking a date because of other commitments people have. I think in the end if they really do want to be there, their other commitments will disappear. I had to convince my DF to move the wedding up three weeks because he was concerned about everyone's schedules. I said if they want to be there they will be there. And if they are not, we are still getting married and that's what really matters. That's what it's all about. Perhaps I'm more selfish than you are though! ;)

That is just so sweet! Thank you so much for those kind words! :goodvibes I know this will work out, and believe me, we are getting so much stress from this wedding... the location, who will be able to make it at all (regardless of what date we pick)... Its really good to know that there are others out there that I can vent to who understand what I'm going through! Thank you again, you really made me feel a lot better about my decision!!! :cutie:

I think that wedding planning really forces you to grow a backbone!!! I really have done and said things to certain people about this wedding that I NEVER would have done/said in the past. There is always something, though, right!?!

aww hon, you weren't harsh, you were just keeping it real! I hear what you are saying, and I am happy with my decision. You know how things can be so stressful in the moment... now that I have had some time to think it over I think this is a good decision. It would be easiest to just leave the date, but its not hard to change it right now since we aren't even at the year mark and haven't officially booked with Disney yet. But this is it, I'm not changing it anymore!
I can't believe you had a super bowl Sunday wedding! Luckily we don't have any football fans... or sports fans for that matter - in the family! lol

Thank you! As much as I'd like to say f-you to everyone and just do what I want, DF doesn't want to upset his family and I respect that. Its such a fine line. I know that no matter what day we choose, the people who really want to be there will be, and that IS all that matters.
I'm extremely nervous about the rain! SO WORRIED. With a date of May 28th, that is very close to June, and the rainy season in FL... I'm so worried that my day will be drenched! And if it is, you know who I'm blaming!!! :rotfl:

lol I think I'm just as selfish! I want as many people at my wedding as possible so they can all be looking at me and think "Look at how pretty she looks!"... well, maybe that's not selfish so much as its just hopeful (not to mention a little vein too! ). I really just want to figure out a date that works for his family and mine. The end of may seems to be okay for right now... but like I said before, I"M NOT CHANGING IT AGAIN!

Thanks for all the help ladies!!!

For what it's worth, May 28th is a wonderful day (if I do say so myself), it's our Anniversary. DH and I will be married 20 years this May!

We have been to Disney several times the last week in May and yes there are lots of people, but I have never felt as crowded as the day after Thanksgiving in MK. OMG:scared1: :scared1: THAT was scary! The weather has been nice then, an occasional afternoon thunderbumper, but not for long.

I have to agree with the other ladies on the date switching. If they want to see you marry, then they will make arrangements to be there. I think you and DF need to make sure that whatever the date, you want it to be a date for you, not a "convenient" date for others.
