Work just booked me for a trip out of town, but my return flight is taking off at 6:10 AM Pacific time.....which is 9:10 AM Eastern - which is when Member Services opens up for my 7 month booking window.

AAHHHHHHH!!!!!

Plane doesn't land until 11:00 AM CST / noon EST which might be too late.

I need to try and score a reservation at VGC......well, let's hope the flight is delayed a few minutes, and I can get the phone call done with Member Services in record time.

Sorry, just had to vent for a second. Doesn't work understand the intracacies of my time share booking windows? How inconsiderate! :-)

Good one! Only your fellow DVCers can truly understand where you're coming from! :lmao:

If the scheduled departure time is 6:10, that is the scheduled time for the plane to push back from the gate, which means the cabin door likely won't close until 6:05 or so. You will probably have a few minutes to call from your seat on the plane before they close the door and make everyone shut down their cell phones.

Alternatively, if there is a family member that you trust, you can always give them your info (Member ID, last 4 of social, mail and e-mail addresses) and have them call for you.

Good luck!

I too would give info to trusted relative or friend and ask them to make to ressie for you.

I also would have a friend or relative call for you. If it's a busy time and you are on hold for awhile, you would miss out if you had to turn off your cell phone. I have been on hold for 10-15 minutes during busy times.

Good luck! I hope you can get your VGC reservation!

Yes your fellow DVCers feel your pain! Talk about timing :sad2: Though not nearly as bad I had to call last year while we were on the shuttle bus for our rental upon arrival in LAX going to DLR. It was supposed to be a suprise for the kids and I was afraid they would hear me. Who would have thought we we schedule our lives around 9 am EST. :rotfl:

I agree with the other posters, is there someone you trust who can make the call for you?

If you have the points you could call the day before and make a reservation for the days you need plus an extra day at the beginning. Then call back and cancel that day the next day after your plane lands. It's what many do to walk a reservation at a busy time. Many may say it isn't fair to do that but there are also many who are walking reservations at the 11th month window and MS doesn't seem to mind.

Although the OP is talking about the 7 month window, and 7 month walking only helps fight the other 7 "monthers"..(You might book days 1-7 at the 7+7 window only to find home resort owners already booked your day 8)

Its still not a terrible idea if you have the points, or possibly booking a week @ the 7+7 window instead of waiting for the exact 7 month window for a few days.

I believe we can email our reservation request. Call Member Services before the day and ask how they handle email requests. Explain your situation and ask what order email requests are handled... never hurts to ask.

You could pull an Arianna Huffington on them and tell them to back off while you are on the phone!

too funny!!

Your date of stay is early September? I wouldn't worry too much, I don't think that's a popular time. If you have the points, I would book the day before.

DW (who had never made a ressie before) called in right away at 9:00 am EST.

Got a studio for our pre - Aulani stay! 4 nights in a studio at DLR and VGC before heading to Hawaii for a one week ocean view 1br suite!!!

So cool so cool

Thanks everybody!

Nice! We just stayed in a studio at VGC in early December and loved it. Sounds like a great way to start off your vacation.

Oh yeah! There will be a trip report for this one.

I'm just debating how much camera gear is going to be coming with me!
