Saw a perfect case of Karma this morning. Let me set up the situation for you.
To drop my ds off at school, I must go down a side street, off of a semi-busy street. Leaving, I get to the end of the side street, and turn right on the busy street. To the right, about 4 or 5 houses down, is a young handicapped child, in a wheelchair. Some mornings, I get stopped behind a school bus picking up this child. This morning, I was waiting to pull out, and the bus was stopped, so I was stopped on the side street (first car in that line), due to the cars on the busy street already lined up behind the bus. Of course, some woman stops immediately in front of me, blocking the intersection (no big deal to me, I couldn't go anywhere anyway).
So anyway, since the bus accommodates the wheelchair, it does take longer to load the child (lower the lift, lift the chair, secure the chair, etc.). I have NO problem with waiting...if anything, I thank my lucky stars that we do not have a child with any issues like that. We were waiting a couple of minutes when the lady who is stopped in the intersection starts making gestures like "Come on, hurry up!". She makes a quick left-turn into the side street on the opposite side from me, to turn around. JUST as she's doing that, the bus moves on, and lots of traffic comes from the other direction, and she is now STUCK on that side street! I couldn't help but laugh as I drove off while she was still sitting there.
Granted, she may have been late to work or something, but is it so much to ask for a little patience while a less-fortunate child gets loaded onto her bus???
