Its the sound of a quiet house; heavenly. My kids went back to school today after several delays due to construction on the bldg. No more I'm bored, arguing or making me half nuts. Its my favorite day of the year.

No flames from me!!!!! It's a wonderful day, isn't ti? After 20 years of full-time work, I became a SAHM a few years ago, so I had no idea how much of a change there would be when the school bell rang. Heavenly!!!!

My kids have been back to school for over a month now, but DH is AT WORK!!!! Yay!!!

It's going to take a little bit to get used to the quiet house on my days off, but I'm not complaining!

I have to wait until after lunch. My 4yo is in afternoon pre-k while my 1yo naps!!!! It was such a long summer and I was sooooooo happy to have him go back to school yesterday.

I love the first day back to school. I usually spend that day doing things only for me, golf, read, shop, etc. I do bake something for afterschool snacks but that is about it (and they only time I usually bake) but this year DH was off that day too and put a damper on "my" day .

I know EXACTLY how you feel! Right now, ds is at full-day K, and my dd is at one of her 2 mornings of preschool. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, I've got a completely quiet house!

Like you, I love my children more than anything else in the world, but it's nice to have a little "me" time, as well. By the time they are both home in the afternoon, I am in a much better mood to be dealing with the fighting, etc.
