I have been INUNDATED with papers this week and I *know* next week with school starting it will only get worse.
SO how do we handle these papers?
Do we shove them in a junk drawer and hope no one notices?
Do we "file" them in the circular file
?
Whats a mom to do?
Here is my answer
BINDERS BINDERS BINDERS!!!!
They are really cheap right now and you can use them for ALL your papers!
FIRST: Before you file them, make sure your read them and copy any relevant dates onto your calendar that you worked so hard to get set up last week
Now to the Binders
Here is how mine are set up ( for suggestion purposes only)
My binders ( all labeled of course, Dymo is my best friend
)
are as follows.
2004/2005 school year
( in this I keep all school lists, class phone lists, relevant paperwork etc.) each child has a divider which has their school name, phone number, teachers name and principal's name. So if I have to call I have all the info I need right there.
Kids activities.
This is where I store all the copies of registrations and/or contracts for kids sports and activities. Including phone lists for teams, shedules, and cancelled checks for payments.
Report cards.. obvious
Kids shot records... again obvious.
Pets
including all shot records, vet visit reports and registration receipts.
Medical records
This is for receipts, reports and notes from the doctor.
and
Insurance information
This has our insurance information in it whats covered, PPO's, etc all in one place.
These are all stored in my office.
I have 2 more Binders in my kitchen.
One is Robin's Recipes full of all my favourite recipes and things Ive printed off from the computer.
The last one is our family book
You can print out the papers from www.organizedhome.com
ine the family notebook section. Ours has family yellow pages, white pages, what to do in an emergency pull outs ( from magazines), a weights and measure page, and whatever else we found that we needed to have easy access to.
So that is my Binder story.
