no wonder I can't find much info. on them! Anybody been there?

I haven't been there, but I was wondering the same thing. I made a ressie with them for June. From what I understand they have a new owner and they got a makeover. Correct me if I am wrong, though. I'm not sure if you know this, but they do have a website palmssuiteslakeside.com

HTH

Hey, we're from PA too....hoping to fly out of LVIA. Did you book through their site, through expedia or through goorlando.com? At goorlando.com they seen to have great prices!

Same here. :wave2: We may go through Allegiant Air because their rates are pretty good. I booked through hotelsplusportal.com and got a super rate $39 per nite. I called the The Palms Suites just to make sure they were going to honor the rate because you can't book with them directly online. They told me that the rate that I was quoted was the rate that I would get. I have my email confirmation from hotelsplus which confirms my rate. I won't forget to bring a copy with me that's for sure! :teeth:

Any tips for finding the link to booking The Palms through that site...I searched and can't seem to find it! The cheapest I found was at goorlando.com for $50.00 for a family suite.
Now if only I could find a cheap rental car...maybe we'll add that through Allegiant Air.

Oops! So sorry. It's hotelplusportal.com not hotelsplus. I just checked and it still says $39 per nite. Just type in Kissimmee for location. Then it will ask you if it is Kissimmee, FL. After that it will start to bring up hotels. It's on the second page.

Hi!

Search this forum under "Mainstay Suites" and you should find a thread I started a few months back.

You might also want to try tripadvisor.com-they have great honest reviews from "regular everyday travelers". I think I saw reviews for the Mainstay Suites and the new incarnation "Palm Suites." (BTW, they seem to be the same owners as the "Palms hotel and villas")

Good luck!!!

mmluvr,

I just read some of the reviews and all I can say is :scared1: I hope that I didn't make a terrible mistake. The pictures certainly are deceiving that's for sure. Well, at least I still have time to change my mind because we aren't going until June. Thanks for the heads up.

From what I've read online they've been taken over and refurbished by the reputable company who owns the Palms Hotel and Villas. When searching for info. about them I cameacross a few online news articles and the new owners seen trustworthy.

That's what I thought. Whew! I read those reviews and it scared the boogies right out of me. By the way, were you able to find them on hotelplusportal?

My best friend stayed here in Oct 2005 over Columbus day weekend and said they had a good time - the room was good for what they paid ($50ish per night) the free breakfast was Muffins, Danish, Bagels & Toast, Milk, Juice, Cereal and make your own waffles. the only trouble they had was a water main break - not the hotels fault - but the hotel offered to move them to a different room but my friend declined but used the other room to shower in (her DD had a dance thing in the MK that day and needed to get ready) she said the pool was clean and they had fun - its just a regular one no slide or anything. and she loved the new Target across the street - said prices on groceries were not bad at all.. I think I might try it out in Aug

Thanks for the review! It's appreciated as we just booked to stay there in May! It'll be nice to have free breakfast!

I take it - it is no longer 'pet friendly'.....

Actually, according to the site I looked at last night, it said it was...I hope it is because I was looking into this place.
