Agonizing - grand villa help please

As much as I love my OKW, if counter servce is important to you, it is kind of "lacking" at OKW. There is only a snack bar at the main pool, no food court type service, and a seasonal counter service (prepackaged) in the Old Turtle Pond pool area.

Other than Olivia's, can you get breakfast anywhere at OKW? I don't remember anywhere, but I'm thinking not.

I think counter service needs to be the least of our concerns, because really, it will be a hike for eating no matter which resort we are in.

Because.....of comfort or that it was in the main living area?

Main living area. The boys slept like rocks. I am just such a light sleeper that would never work for me but if you sleep soundly, it would be fine. The GV at the OKW is super awesome. Page 13 of my trip report has pics of the OKW GV. :thumbsup2 Link below. ;)

The best GV's were Jambo and the cottage at Vero Beach which unfortunately aren't available to you now.

The advantage to OKW especially with 11 people is that there is more seating in the living room. The living room is very bright and the whole unit feels huge. Plus the points are lower.

SSR was nicely decorated and plenty bright because of the two floor window. Being close to DTD will be handy for dining options. I liked being able to walk around outside, while at AKV, I felt that I was the one caged in. I slept on the living room sofabed at SSR (due to my DH snoring!) and was fine (one night.)

I think AKV will be bright enough because there is the two floor window. I agree that the two bd was too dark for my taste too.

You have to live with your hubby and I would want to make him happy before other people that will be appreciative of any GV you invite them to.

I think the decor of SSR would be the most pleasing.

OKW laundry room is big enough for a twin or full aero bed. Just a thought.

I've never stayed in a GV so I can't be of much help. However...from having a 2 bdrm and a studio...keep in mind that the person with the studio may be upset, and have no guarantee that they will be close to the rest of the party.

I'd say go where you and your husband would feel most comfortable staying. If you're uncomfortable, you feelings may spread to your guests staying with you. Also, i imagine that they will like where ever you choose. Just the fact of being at disney i think would be a wow factor. Like others said, SSR offers a "cheery" feeling with the color scheme there. I feel the same way about the dark colors at AKV. I haven't been to OKW. I don't want to sway you either way, just giving you a few thoughts.

just thought too..... How about showing all involved the rooms on the virtual tour...see what everyone likes? But again, i think you need to feel comfortable with your decision, the others would follow suit.
