Ages for children's menus?

Apologies if this has been asked before: My kids have finally aged out of the "children" category, as far as the Disney definition goes. How strict are the restaurants (California Grill, etc.) in terms of who can order from the kid's menu? It's not the cost that's an issue, but my kids are hopelessly stuck in the mac-and-cheese syndrome, and I don't know that they'll find anything they like on the adult menu.

I have a very juvenile palate and couldn't find a single thing I liked on the Brown Derby menu. They let me order off of the children's menu!
