Who has done this? Would this be good for an 8 & 5 year old? Do you have to go in a specific order? Do all the countries? Or can you pick and choose the countries you want to do this in? I see it says that it takes about 25 minutes in each country? Lastly, how did your children enjoy it?

I'll have to answer this in two parts.
I did it myself on a solo trip I took last month.
I was given a choice from a few countries and picked UK since I hadn't "done it" before.
It wasn't my favorite country from the ones I have "done" before (Germany, Japan, Mexico) but still fun.
I would expect that your kids would love it so much that you'd have to do it more than once.
When I played, I wasn't given the option of doing more than one country.
But you can always go and get another phone.

I said "done" in quotations, because I first did it when it was the Kim Possible game.
It's very similar, just more talking (it seemed) and different characters of course.
I played it with my DDs aged 8 and 12.
It was easily the best thing about WS and possibly all of Epcot for them.
They couldn't wait to play it again.
Sometimes I had to help them with clues, sometimes I didn't.

Your kids will love it. It is really the only way I could get my daughter to see the countries but even then we were so hot we only did 2 countries at a time. We did pick the countries we wanted to do and I think each Kiosk has a few choices. I believe when you solved it they had a spot to drop your phone off with the last clue. You have to go to a kiosk to get another phone. It was a favorite of the trip for her - she even finished one country in pouring rain because she didn't want to run out of time.

So how long does it take to do? I was debating on doing this or just concentrating on the Kidcot stations

Depends on how fast you figure out the clues and how fast you walk, I suppose.
Figure anywhere from 10 minutes if you're fast to 30 at the most.

Each individual country? 15-30 minutes, depending on the pace of your kids.

The whole thing? IME it soaks up all the available time, as you will be hot and tired, ready to leave, and your kids will want to be moving on to their next country. Then, they will want to come back and play "just another couple countries" on another day when you had thought you were going to get to lie in a recliner while they swam in the pool. Of course, your mileage may vary.

On the plus side, I really felt that the game helped my kids to "see" the individual countries in a way they would not have just touring at our side. I use quotes around the word see to indicate that this is the "see" like when you point out the socks on the floor to your kids, as opposed to the see that happens when you tell them to pick up their stuff from the hallway and the socks are still there at the end.

Just so you are aware, unless you have a toddler the Kidcot stations are pretty lame -- in our first trip in 2009 there was some cool stuff in the FW ones (little themed crafts), but in 2011 and 2013 it seemed to be color-a-Duffy-bear everywhere you went. If that is no longer true, perhaps someone else will post some more up-to-date information.

My daughter's favorite thing was I believe China where she had to tell a phrase to a lady at the kidcot station and she gave her a fortune cookie that had the next clue in it.

Does this start when you cross over the gateway from FW to WS? I was thinking my 5-1/2 year old son may like this.

There is a kiosk there also at International Gateway, Norway and Italy.
But the missions don't start until you reach your chosen mission country.

And yes, I would think your son would like it.
