My daughter will be 2 and a half when we go in September. What age do they start charging at the character meals? I went when she was 10 months and there wasn't a charge for her but am thinking it's probably time.

Under 3 free, 3-9 child's prices, 10 and above adult prices.

You know I love Disney and all things Disney, but this "at 10 you're an adult" thing. This is my biggest gripe with Disney, charging a 10 year old full adult price for a buffet is criminal and beyond greedy! Especially since most Disney buffets, other than Boma, are really very disapointing! There should be another pricing tier or at least extend the year to 12 for the adult buffet price.

:headache:Sorry, just had to vent!

There are an equal number of "my 10/11/12 year old still wants to eat like a child!" and "my 7/8/9 year old only eats adult food and won't touch the kid stuff!" posts.

I don't think what they eat is the issue, I've seen adults at Boma load up on the chicken nuggets and french fries. At a buffet, the food, no matter what it is, is available to everyone, I just think it's unreasonable, even for Disney to charge a 10 year old the same price as a grown man or woman. A buffet is all you can eat, thus why they charge the prices they charge but most 10 year olds will not consume near the same amounts of food as an adult. Of course there will always be some exceptions. My son has always eaten what some may consider adult food, frankly I consider it just food, the buffets don't distinguish certain foods for children only, it's all available for the taking. At 10 he would eat a small slice of Roast Beef and a spoon full of spinach and a dessert or 2, for that he should be charged as an adult. Un-like most adults, he woudn't go back to the buffet 2 and 3 times. Of course he's 13 and 1/2 now, 5'11" & 1/2, look out!

I have seen a great many kids eats WAY more than me and my husband at Disney buffets. We eat small portions and just because something is all you can eat, we don't gorge ourselves. I think the pricing is based on the experience for the most part. That's what we're paying the price when we. No one is forcing you to attend.

If you feel the pricing is fair and you're o.k with it, express your opinion just as I did, I respect that, however the "no one is forcing you" comment is quite un-necesarry!

Wow this seems to be going downhill and completely off topic fast!

OP has their answer, so this one is closed.
