Could our 17yo daughter use exercise facilities if accompanied by adult?

No, unfortunately the age is 18 and above for the fitness center. DCL is very firm on this as it has to do with insurance reasons.

Only if a 39 year old can use the Mickey slide if accompanied by a child. ;)

I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with insurance, since the kids can use the gym equipment as part of the clubs. But that's only for an hour, twice during the 7 day. And then those times were at night, and conflicted with our late seating dinner, and he wanted to eat with us.
My 17 year old DS was VERY disappointed since he wanted to do some conditioning to get ready for Varsity Baseball.
This is certainly something Disney needs to fix. It is a FAMILY cruise afterall.

I love the adult only gym and pool, and I can see where the adult only gym is due to an insurance issue. There is a huge difference between a structured setting with CMs to watch and instruct and a group of 10-11 year olds running around and playing on the machines.
