Age of ring bearer and flower girl?

My flower girl and ring bearer were both 2. They held hands and walked down the aisle together. It was the cutest thing ever! During the ceremony they were a little distracted but I didn't even notice. They were extremely well behaved. We went into it with knowing they may not walk down the aisle and we were ok with that. The ring bearer was my nephew (and Godson) and the apple of my eye! There was no way I was not going to have him in my wedding. My flower girl is the daughter of a very good friend of mine. She was in 3 or 4 weddings BEFORE mine so she was a pro!

My flower girl and ring bearer (my niece and nephew) were 4 1/2 and 3 respectively. They walked in together. My niece took her duties very seriously - we think maybe she felt it was similar to her dance recital - she had a costume afterall ;) She walked perfectly straight right to her mom as she was told. I have a bunch of pics of my nephew following her and everyone redirecting him to stand with DH. DH and I only see them a few times a year so thinking back I'm surprised he went over there without a fuss.

Anyway, our entire wedding was only about 10 to 15 minutes and during the vows my nephew got borred and started SINGING and DANCING :lmao: It was adorable and we all burst out laughing. It was actually kinda nice to break up the seriousness. Our officiant even paused for a second and said she couldn't compete with that  His sister took one step to the side - so she could see him around my dress - and shooshed him and then steped exactly back to her spot and he was quiet the rest of the ceremony. :rotfl: They were really cute and totally unpredictable, but it was fun and not something that bothered us at all. Just be prepared for kids under 5 to do something totally off the wall - might be cute like we got, or might be total meltdown. As long as that's no big deal, go for it!

I'm going to have 2 FG and 1 RB, they're all siblings ages 6 (FG), 3 weeks shy of 5 (RB), and just turned 3 (FG). My main concern is that the youngest, who has learned to fight for what she wants, will decide halfway down that her brother or sister is blocking her and then it will be a contest to see who can get in front and stay there. I'm having all 3 walk together because the oldest one will be able to help the younger ones make it down the aisle. If not, oh well. They're my nieces and nephew and I love them and just want them in the wedding.

I am a preschool teacher and it is killing me but I dont have any RB or flower girls! :confused3 If we were getting married in PA I could have my whole class (10 RBs and 6 flowergirls-lol)

At my cousins wedding their ring bearer was only 1 and a half and the flower girl was 8. Thank goodness for that, because she literally had to go back down the isle to get him and hold his hand and then hand him to me or another person of the bridal party to keep him still and amused for the ceremony.
I wouldn't go with anyone under the age of 4 or 5, who can clearly follow instructions and will do so.
