So I just finished watching a re-airing of the season premiere of Hot in Cleveland on TVLand (aired live originally). William Shatner and Shirley Jones guest-starred, with Jones playing Shatner's mother.

That got me curious. I checked. William Shatner is three years older tan Shirley Jones. That's pretty extreme casting . Anybody have any other examples?

Can't think of anything that extreme (great episode, BTW), but I seem to recall Stacey Dash being nearly 30 when she was in Clueless. Kristin Chenowith was quite a bit older than her costars (all of whom were supposed to be the same age) in GCB.

In North by Northwest, the woman who plays Cary Grant's mother is only 7 years older than him. His love interest in it (Eva Marie Saint) is 20 years younger than him. Things haven't changed much!!

Soap operas are the best.. On Days of our Lives both Will Horton and Phillip Kiriakis were born in 1995. The actor that plays Will was born in 1990, and "Phillip" was aged and was portrayed last by Jay Kenneth Johnson who was born in 1977. Brady Black was born in 1992 but is played by someone who is 42.

Lauren Koslow (Kate) is only 10 years older than her daughter Billie (Lisa Rinna). They look very silly when they are playing off each other as one is aging very gracefully and one isn't..
