AFVC Condos

Anyone ever stay at any of the Armed Forces Vacation Club condos in the WDW area? The price is outstanding (about $270/week) so I'm wondering if they are just too good to be true, know what I mean?

it is excess inventory. Orlando is overbuilt with timeshares. I think AFVC and the government employees vacation club is all tied in with RCI (& maybe skyauction too?) Just be sure to research the resort of your choice before booking. I checked the government employee site & they have great resorts available for December like Fairfied Cypress Palms, Silverlake, Summerbay, Embassy Vacation Club, Cypress Pointe, Celebration World Resort, just to name a few of the good ones. Just remember the more people it sleeps, the bigger the unit (bedrooms). If you book one that sleeps only 4, more than likely its only a studio or small lockout unit. but for only $264 for a week, its still way cheaper than a little bitty hotel room!
I do not qualify to stay using the AFVC or government employee site but have used skyauction without a hitch. Great resorts. I think AFVC & the government employee sites are one of the best kept secrets (now that skyauction has been let out of the bag)

Yes, we used AFVC last December for the first time...and stayed at Summer Bay Resort about 7 miles from Disney. Last year it was $249/wk. Now it's $264/wk.

This year, we used SkyAuction....pretty much same inventory. We one an auction for $221/wk. We will be staying at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas just 1 mile from Disney.

Both places were / are 2 bedroom / 2 bath / kitchen / washer-dryer condos.

AFVC was very easy to use. I would do it again.
