Last year, I wanted to go to the Afternoon Tea at GF but didn't and have thought about going ever since. This year, we are on the DDP and the Tea is 1 TS credit.

Now, after seeing some pictures, it looks kind of plain... any thoughts? Would it be enjoyable? What are your experiences?

I don't want to "waste" a credit on it... when I could do (eat! :cool1: )something else...

Afternoon Tea is one of our favorite meal experiences at WDW. I wouldn't call it plain, but it is tea, so it is serene. I find it a nice break from frenetic touring, but if you're looking for something a la Whispering Canyon, you probably won't like it. It is plenty of food. The tea sandwiches are very tasty, the scones divine, desserts fabulous and the strawberries are delicious. We really enjoy it. I've been to tea in a lot of places and this one rates very well in my book.

I wasn't aware that it was on the Dining plan. For someone who is looking to maximize the dollar value of every credit, tea probably isn't your best choice. If you're looking for an enjoyable dining experience, give it a try.

Enjoy!

I loved the tea and felt it was a special way to spend a relaxing afternoon. I am not sure what you mean by plain? The food is not plain, it's quite delicious, the room is lovely and service is great.

According to the list on www.allearsnet.com and www.disney.com, the afternoon tea is NOT on the dining plan. Where did you find that it was included?

Thanks for the clarification, aimeedan - I am considering booking the GF Tea for me and DD(10) on our fall trip and my eyes almost popped out when I saw the poster's comment about using a TS for it!!

I have seen some great pix of the selections on another site, shared them w/ DD and I am calling to book in the next few days!! I agree with some earlier advice I got on here that it's a must-do for a mother-daughter trip!!!

I think FDP is generous enough - we can spring for the Tea OOP!!
