I am booking Afternoon Tea for my wife and mom one afternoon to give them a break from me and dear 3-year-old son, and am wondering if it is a meal or a snack? Would it make a good late lunch or should I schedule an early lunch beforehand? Are they likely to be too full afterwards to want to eat dinner?

Also, can dining plan TS credits be used to pay for this meal?

TIA!

There is a lot of range as to what you can order, but we always make it a late lunch and then just want a light dinner/snack that night.

We get the Prince Edward that comes with scones, an onion tart, finger sandwiches, and trifle or strawberries and cream plus a pot of tea.

Sorry, you can not use DDP credits on tea.

What a thoughtful DH! They will love it! :thumbsup2
I wouldn't schedule a meal for about 4 hours on either side of the reservation if they decide to go with the full tea with sandwiches, scones, trifle, etc. It's a full meal. They can make this their 'late lunch' with a 2 pm reservation.
My DH and I have an early breakfast, have tea at 2 (with just scones for me and strawberries for him...it's still a filling snack) and then have a later dinner.

I agree with the previous posters. My husband and I did the full tea (the one that comes with champagne) and were satisfied for several hours. It is really an enjoyable way to spend part of the afternoon. Would definitely do it again! Enjoy!! :)

Depending on what they order. If they wanted to have lunch that day, and do a light tea, they can just order tea and some items a la carte. If they want to make a meal out of it, they can order the option that includes finger sandwiches, scones, tea, etc. which should be plenty, but if they wanted more, they can also order extra tea sandwiches and/or bread. It will be a lovely time for them! There used to be some photo threads that showed pictures of the tea items. Maybe a thread search would help you decide!
