Has anyone been to the afternoon tea @ the GF? Thinking about booking for my arrival day ... is it a lot of food for just one person? How long can I plan to be there? Do you have to call the ressie line to book or can you just walk up (in early January)...any reviews? TIA!!

1) Always get an ADR\, as they usually are booked.
2) Plan for 60-90 minutes if you do it in a relaxed style.
3) The servings are per-person and well portioned for one - not too much.

we did this earlier this year...we LOVED it. Yes, you need an ADR --as was said, it is usually booked up.

I did this with friends ( a group of women in our 30's and 40's) and loved it. The server was great explaining all the teas and food offerings. I'm not usually a tea drinker and I found a tea I loved. You can order food a la cart or sort of like a package. Tea sandwiches were fabulous and the deserts awesome. I would reccommend it. While it was a very pretty setting, it didn't feel "stuffy". We had just had massages at the Spa and this continued to make us feel pampered.:goodvibes

If you dine ala carte, be sure to have the scones. They are not the regular dried out coffee shop scones but deliciously moist and crunchy at the same time with devonshire cream and jam!!! YUMMY!!!

Make a reservation. We went on our last trip. We invited my aunt who lives in Fl. It was a nice time. Not to much food. Servers were wonderful. We also had my grandchildren ages 3 & 5. A very nice experience for all.

Definitely get an ADR as they only serve from 2-5 each afternoon, iirc. Absolutely worth it! We usually get the Buckingham Palace, which is a bottomless pot of your choice of tea, traditional selection of miniature tea sandwiches, scones w/ jam and clotted cream (YUM), and your choice of either strawberries and fresh whipped cream (YUM!) or two small pastries you pick off their trays.

It's a lovely, relaxing, quiet atmosphere. You can probably rush through in about 45 minutes if you were in a hurry, but I'd encourage you to take your time and spend the hour, hour and a half there.

We often do this as the last thing at WDW before heading to the airport. It's a great way to wind down and transition to the hectic trip home.

this is a tradition we do on each trip. It's so nice, a wonderful experience. I think it's just enough food for one person and you will still be hungry for dinner.
