I curious to know who has been to Afternoon Tea and what were your impressions? Wes has always wanted to take me to afternoon tea, and then we discovered that GF has it. From looking at the menus over on Deb's site, it sounds excellent.

Also, I'm wondering if we should make reservations. We're staying for nine days, so we think it'd be ok if we just called after check-in.

We made reservations 180 days out and still had to wait a little while to be seated. It is a very small area with not many tables. I would highly recommend reservations.

We first went in '07 and really enjoyed ourselves. It was myself, DH and DD (then age 11). It was a nice way to have a break in the middle of the day and spend some down time in a quiet place enjoying ourselves.

We highly recommend it and we are really looking forward to our return visit next month. It was on our list of MUST DO's this trip.

Hi
We did this on a girls only trip in September. I would definitely make reservations. We loved it and would definitely do this again. It's so relaxing and the GF is beautiful. It's a nice break in the middle of the day. Have fun!!

It was really a great time. The food was really good and the atmosphere can't be beat. With this being your first afternoon tea, you couldn't choose a better location...:goodvibes

We've done the tea three different times. Love it, love it, love it. I'm still trying to figure out how I get so full on just a few finger sandwiches, bits of cheese and fruit!

I've done it 2 or 3 times and had a great exp each time. I would recommend reservations, even if you wait until you are there and try to get in later in the week. It's small, with limited hours, so sometimes they don't take walk ups.

OyBolshoi has a fabulous review of the afternoon tea, which you'll find just a few posts down from the top of this page:

I've been to the tea a couple of times, and really loved it. About the ADRs, though - depending on when you're going, it might not hurt to book one in advance. It can be hard to get on occasion.

We love the afternoon tea at the garden view! its always so relaxing! My DD who doesnt like tea, can even be happy with the ms pots tea (chocolate milk) it always makes her feel excited that she can be part of teh tea party, without having to drink the "yucky tea" as she would say. But to my other DD (18) and my DH, we love the tea there, and there are so many options, we even get pastries! it is a great restaurant after a tiring day at the parks!

We always get reservations too. We normally stil have to wait though, but only for about 10-15 minutes, but ive seen people (without reservations) waiting for around an hour or more! so if you do decide to go there, reservations are deffinitley the way to go!

I have been considering trying it too with my two DD's 5 and almost 4. How is it with kids? Do they get bored too quickly? Are they frowned upon?

I have found I most often have to book at least 30 days in advance. Sometimes if you want in closer to the usual dinner time then you can get in easier too.
The tea is very good. Never a disappointment. And people of all ages seem to like it.
One time DH and I were there and it was mostly guys. And kids seem to do fine there, from what I have seen. There is usually at least two tables with kids each time we have went.
