Has anyone been to the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian? If so what did you think of this experience & do you have any pics?

I m looking to take my mum to this on the day before my wedding day as i figured it would be a nice way to spend some time just the 2 of us before i get married. I ve taken her to the Ritz for Afternoon Tea & she loved this, i know this wont be quite the same but i figured it still would be a very enjoyable experience:thumbsup2

My mum and I have done the Afternoon Tea at the GF twice. We're intending doing it for a third time in October.

It was absolutely fantastic. I'm not a tea drinker but loved spending a couple of hours relaxing and enjoying the food and the surroundings.

I would thoroughly recommend it. Apologies no piccies, too busy enjoying the food to take any.

we have done this 2/3 times now and love it (it is the best cup of tea I have ever had in US).
Last year our boys paid for us to have the Grand Tea for our anniversary, eldest rang up and booked it and then went to post office and changed money into dollars for us - it was a total surprise which made it even better.

I have some pictures somewhere will have a look on my old PC for you, it is very refined and I think that it would be a wonderful way to spend some time the day before your wedding - but don't eat any lunch, it is very filling, we had a late breakfast and then nothing until we went and I don't think that we ate anything else that evening.

If I can find any pictures I will post them for you

Thats a really nice idea.

We have booked this for our trip in February and I am really looking forward to it pixiedust:

We've done this twice and it is a lovely thing to do.

It is such a lovely place to go and have a civilised cup of tea in gorgeous surroundings. I have a couple of pictures below.

Hope that helps

Tea at the GF is wonderful, very relaxed, we have been a few times and with our DS who will be 3 this trip. In the past we ordered a set package but now we just sample various items from the menu. They bring a box of the teas to the table to give you an idea. We will be here again in a few days with our DD who will be 10mths, she wont like the tea but I bet she will enjoy the sandwiches and the pastries.:) :)

Does anyone know how much this costs and deos it have to be booked in advance?

Rob

I had a feeling they don't take ADR's but don't quote me on this. I too would love to do this:)

You really need an ADR as it only runs for a short time each day. Book through regular dining line. Remember you can also get the mini castle cake and slipper dessert ordered to have at Tea (also must be done in advance and costs extra).

He is menu:

OP, when I read threads on the GF Tea, most people go with their mother (as do I and we love to do it every trip), so I think it would be a great idea. It is very relaxing.
