We are staying up bu seaworld - exit 71 off I4. Do you think we are close enough to the Magic kingdom to have an afternoon break back at our condo?

I'd say Sea World is about 20-25 min from the MK. You should be good for an afternoon break.

But if you are planning on returning back to the MK after your break, factor time of getting in and out of the MK park itself. First you have to drive to the Ticket & Transportation Center (MK parking lot), get a tram from your car after you've parked and it will take u to either the monorail or ferry which will then take you directly into the park. The parking/tram/monorail or ferry can be anywhere from 25-45 min in time. Then factor in the driving to and from your hotel (maybe 20-25 min each way). So, if u decide to return back to the MK after your break, you could conceivably be looking at a total of anywhere from 45 min to an hour from the time you leave your hotel to the time you step foot back in the MK park. The MK park is the only WDW theme park that really involves the most steps and time. Getting back into Epcot or Disney Hollywood Studios would take less time.

Oh...and WELCOME to the DIS !

I think I may have posted the question in the wrong area so I appreciate you answering. we have 2 boys (3 and 5) and will be spening 2 days in MK (sept 16 and 19) so even if we only have 3-4 hrs in the morning and then come back for 3-4 hours in the evening we should be okay. here is the plan - can you tell me if you think it is a good one. It is my first time back since 1992.

We hope to arrive early for the rope drop - go to fantasyland and then toontown.

Leave the park by 1pm (at the latest) go back to the condo for some quiet time

then return around 4pm for frontierland, adventureland and fireworks.

we will come back the second day to tomorrowland and see anything we missed .

we do not have a break planned for this day as we would like to see the 3pm parade.

Thanks so much for any input

Hi again sdd1840....
I think your plan sounds great. With the ages of your children, a mid day break will be very much welcomed. Have a wonderful trip !

Wev'e visited in September on those same dates and its a great time to visit! The lines should be about three people long! It took us longer to walk through the line than it did to wait to get on in most cases! You should be able to see and do alot during your morning visit. We went straight to Fantasyland when the park opened and had it all to ourselves!! DD loved Pooh's Playful Spot and could ride the slide over and over because there was nobody there! Hope you have the same great luck!

thanks - BTW - my husband is from RI too and has NEVER been to Disney! I get to take all my boys - 3, 5 and 40! for their first visit.

It is such a small world! I can't believe all the people from RI here on the boards! They keep popping up everywhere!! Enjoy your trip!
