After you turn in you rental at Dolphin?

has anyone turned in rental car then taken disney buses back to hotel?
I just want to rent car to get around 1st & 2nd day then turn it in because
we r getting in so late at night.

National/Alamo have a courtesy van to take you back to your resort, but you might have to wait a bit for it to arrive. Depends where it is when yu need it. It only runs during the hours the rental desks are open though.

The Dolphin is within walking distance to both EPCOT (International Gateway entrance) and MGM. There is boat service to both those parks as well from the Dolphin. My advice would be to take the boat to MGM and then grab the resort bus from there.

Another otion is to take a cab back to the resort - cost would be $12 -$15, including tip.

we always time our rental car return w/our dinner ressie or fireworks so we don't make a trip thru the world w/out "getting" something out of it...

I believe the rental desk at the dolphin closes early evening. Don't know anything about the Alamo/National shuttle, but as far as WDW tranport, you could catch the first WDW bus going to any park, then switch at the park for a bus back to your hotel. Take the boat (or walk - about 15-20 minutes) to MGM and catch a bus to your resort, or walk "through" Epcot and catch a bus to your resort. If you do the Epcot option, you will use a park ticket. the others would not (if that's a concern of yours). Where will you be staying and what's your first day of touring schedule and can a "single" drop off the car. Last time we were there, I had two separate car reservations, so I had to do a drop and a pick up. DH took DD and went to the parks and I did the car thing and met up with them later. It's a lot easier done, if the whole group isn't trailing along.

i think i will drop off at dolphin and take bus back to resort staying at CBR. not going to parks this day so no hurry to get back.

the dolphin rental desk does close early, but the valet parkers will take your car and "check it in" 24/7...
