After the rocky start, it had to get better right? (updated info located on 1st post)

So all of my hard work is being lost amongst all of the other TR's, so... I am shamelessly bumping my own thread. I should have another chapter done today!
:ssst: (whispering in my best used car salesman voice) Want to see them read your TR in droves? Change your title to reflect that you saw the couple who won the ********* at MGM. I kid you not, you'll have to beat them off with a stick! :smooth:

Awww...poor Ryan. Sounds like he braved it well though. I thought about taking my DDs to BBB but wasn't sure they'd be interested since they are 12 and 15.

BTW - Love you pics!

I LOVE this trip report. Your son is so adorable and you seem like such a kind and giving mother. He seems like such a nice guy to brave it out for mom in BBB pirate: The part about rude people in disney is PRICELESS. There are some very rude people at the world and I always encounter about one a day while there. I can't wait to hear more, keep them coming please!

YEAH! People are reading it! :rotfl2: This makes me happy. I will work on more soon. This weekend is nuts as usual, but I am hoping to crank out another chapter tonight!

Lori, It is way fun. Not high society by any stretch, but worked for us! You saw where we lived... HDD could be considered off Broadway! :rotfl2: :lmao:

:rotfl2: Well, I will have to make sure we get there one of these days. I am glad you liked it !!

Austin and Ryan would get along so well. Pin trading, Star Tours AND Lights Motor Action ?! Three of his tops !! And I LOVE the Carrie moment. Nothing will ever compare to that show ~unless of course we talk about Friends !!~.

I am loving the trip report and the pictures are great !!

Awwww - I am sory the Cool Dude experience didn't turn out better I felt so sorry for you when we saw you waiting there and it had been so long. And your right nothing about the BBB is boy friendly !!

We were at MNSSHP the same night and we also had a blast. They were on the lookout for wristbands bcuase they checked ours a few times when we were in line for Trick or Treating and to get on the rides. Hallowishes was a highlight for me. Loved the finale !!

Keep the days comin !!

In my quest to have the perfect vacation I slated this day as our full day at the Magic Kingdom. I wanted to be up early, get there at opening, etc, etc. Well when the alarm went off there was just no getting out of bed. Because of the late night with MNSSHP, it just was not going to happen. When we woke up Ryan wanted to go back to MGM. I of course was worried about "not seeing it all" but then I realized that this was his vacation too and we would see what we could. After all, not seeing everything gave me a GREAT reason to start planning another trip right? ;) We made our way to MGM and of course went immediately over to Star Tours. I think we rode it 2 or 3 times. At this point Ry has memorized the entire ride and so darn proud of that fact. We were exiting the gift shop and I looked over and noticed the line had gotten really long. I made a comment to myself and then took a second look. I noticed some character that I KNEW Ryan would want to meet. I tapped him on the shoulder and pointed in the general direction. His mouth dropped to the floor! It was Darth Vader and 2 Storm Stoopers! We had some GREAT interaction with these 3. The Storm Troopers were VERY interested in Ryan's Boba Fett hat. It was too cool! After light speeding our way throught he galaxy, I really wanted to do the Magic of Disney Animation tour. It was SO cool. As we exited the first portion we noticed Mr. Incredible standing there with nobody around. So we stopped for a photo and autograph! We then made our way to the drawing portion. We got to draw Donald Duck. I think it was a little bit advanced for Ryan (heck it was even advanced for me!) but we did our best and I thought it was a neat experience. I LOVED the shop at the end of that attraction. I found many many things I wanted. However, with Terry not being a Disney fan I wanted to not upset the apple cart too much by having a HUGE picture of Mickey hanging on our walls. But it was still cool to look around.
Eventually we made our way over to the MK. We got there just in time to get prime seats for the 3:00 parade. I LOVED this parade. Before the parade even started though CM's were out and about giving the kids fun things to do to keep them entertained. Hula Hoops, dancing, and just being silly! Fun fun fun! I also met up with my POPper friend to give her her MNSSHP pins I purchased the night before. Because we were able to do so many rides the night before we were able to be selective and take it slow. I was msot excited about seeing the new POtheC. I think it was really done well. And nobody can tell me that it wasn't improved by putting Cpt. Jack in there! We made our way over to Pecos Bills for a late lunch/early dinner. The food was really good in my opinion. We sat outside and watched as MANY children and adults fed the birds. :stir: I was hoping that Ry would want to stay for Wishes but he was anxious to get back to the hotel to swim! So we left. I was disappointed, but it was not important enough to argue about it. We had seen HalloWishes the night before and I think he was content with that. It really was all good.
At the hotel we had another meet. It was supposed to be a laundry meet, but I am not sure if anyone did their laundry. (again good intentions :teeth: ) But it was vacation so I was more interested in enjoying our time rather than worrying about laundry!
We went to bed happy but tired. I knew we needed sleep because we had an EARLY ADR in the morning.

Tia,
Great report just found it this morning and got caught up. Really enjoy the addition of pictures makes it feel like we are there with you or where there with you (wow need caffeine).

Also as a non-smoker I want to THANK YOU for being considerate of others and using the smoking area.

And most of all your family has our utmost appreciation and support for your families sacrifice at this time in your lives to be separated from Terry while he serves our country and because of all the men and women who are serving I have the luxury of sitting in my safe home and reading this trip report.

Please pass along our thanks and gratitude to him and your family will be in our thoughts wishing for his quick and safe return.

So yeah, I totally lost your comment in all of my typing frenzy!
I guess if your hubby gets shipped off we will have NO choice but to take our boys to WDW right? I mean how could we deny them the chance to become lifelong friends??? :lmao: Ry would get a kick out of being with another kid who was totally into everything he was. I loved Star Tours too, but after the 8th time or whatever, I was about toured out! :rotfl:

Oh and I almsot forgot, I totally agree about S&TC! LOVED LOVED LOVED that show. I still watch the reruns when I get a chance. I have all the seasons on DVD. Yeah, it was a fantastic show! I was so sad when they ended it! :sad2:

Ryan looks like he's having soooo much fun! The turkey legs do look grosse eh but they probably are very tasty.

This was the ONLY morning when getting up early was essential as we had a 1st seating ADR at Animal Kingdom. A day or two BEFORE our ADR my travel agent (Donna the Disney wonder) called to let me know not to worry about taking a cab to the AK as they had early monring busses! GREAT I thought, that would certainly save me a buck or two. So I asked a CM at POP where the bus was. He informed me that there was one bus that would have "Character Dining" on it and it would pick up at the first stop in the bus area and that I needed to be out there by 6:30am. As you can plainly see we are NOT morning people, but it was breakfast with Donald and the gang, we would muster up the strength to be up at 0-dark early! ;) Well, then I asked another CM later on (I am paranoid about not having the right information) and they told me that I needed to be at the busses by 7am and that I would go to the line for the park I wanted. I decided it was in our best interests if we were out there by 6:30. As we make our way to the bus line we are THE ONLY ONES anywhere. It was blissfully quiet but still dark outside. So.... we walk over to the AK bus line. And we wait... and we wait... and we wait. About 7am a family gets in line for the MK. About 5 minutes later a bus pulls up. So I am starting to get frustrated. I ask the bus driver why the bus for the AK was not here. He informed me that they have cameras installed and the lines are monitored by camera. And since we were sitting on the benches out of the line of the cameras, a bus was not dispatched for us. Grrrr.... so we get in line. By this time there is another family behind us, (KSBelle, who was on our POPper thread). We chit chat and are finally on our way to the AK! This was my first time ever goign to this park. And as soon as I walked up to the gate, I knew I was going to enjoy being here very much! There was of course a line forming to get in. And we had to wait for the all clear before we were allowed in. As we are walking towards DinoLand in front of us is the Tree of Life. WOW :earseek: how amazing. I was able to take a few nice pics without tons of people around. We finally got to Donald's Breakfastosaurus and we allowed in fairly quickly. We were told how it would work and to go get food now, so we would be ready when the characters came in. There was a nice selection of food. We each found lots of stuff we liked! (I think we will do more buffets next time because of the variety) This was an early B-Day trip for Ryan and apparently that was noted on our ressie, so Ryan was given a Birthday button and everyone in our room sang to him! Finally it was our turn to meet and greet with the characters. I felt the interaction time was very rushed. I was not expecting tons of time, but I felt like I had to hurry hurry hurry to get a pic and then it was on to the next. By the time we had met the characters the line for the buffet was VERY long. It was close to park opening so Ryan said he would skip getting more food because he was ready for rides!
Well...... we exit through the back of DB and we are standing right in front of the entrance to Dinosaur. This was one of Ry's MUST do's. I wanted to go to Expedition Everest first, but agreed to ride Dinosaur with him. We were the first family of the day to ride so we got the entire car to ourselves. We also got a "Magical Moment" certificate. I thought that was pretty cool. But as we are getting into the car we both start to get very nervous. I had read reviews about this ride and I was prepared for it being scary, but I was NOT prepared for how scared I actually was. :scared1: Ryan and I held onto one another for dear life. I told him I was too scared to open my eyes and he said he was too scared as well. I think between the two of us we saw maybe 5 seconds of the ride. It was VERY bumpy, VERY loud and just way too intense for us.
Since we were in DinoLand, we rode the coaster there. Ryan loved it. I thought it was ok but since he loved it so much I asked the CM if we could stay on and she said yes, so we rode again. I wish the transitions into the spinning mode were a bit more smooth, but all in all it was fun!
On our way over to EE ( :woohoo: ) we bumped into Chip and Dale. They were both being silly and spent some good time with Ryan.
It is hard not to feel a bit nervous when you see EE. It looms in the distance and you can hear screams from quite a distance away. Ryan was not interested in riding so he stood in line with me and then took the last ditch exit. This has to be one of my favorite rides in all of WDW! Too freaking cool. The line was still short so I said I wanted to go again. Ryan was in line with me for the second time but this time I was able to convince him to try it. The promise of some cool gifts did the trick! So we ride and he loves it!

To be continued......

It was great meeting you and Ryan and visiting on our way to AK.
