This was the ONLY morning when getting up early was essential as we had a 1st seating ADR at Animal Kingdom. A day or two BEFORE our ADR my
travel agent (Donna the Disney wonder) called to let me know not to worry about taking a cab to the AK as they had early monring busses! GREAT I thought, that would certainly save me a buck or two. So I asked a CM at POP where the bus was. He informed me that there was one bus that would have "Character Dining" on it and it would pick up at the first stop in the bus area and that I needed to be out there by 6:30am. As you can plainly see we are NOT morning people, but it was breakfast with Donald and the gang, we would muster up the strength to be up at 0-dark early!

Well, then I asked another CM later on (I am paranoid about not having the right information) and they told me that I needed to be at the busses by 7am and that I would go to the line for the park I wanted. I decided it was in our best interests if we were out there by 6:30. As we make our way to the bus line we are THE ONLY ONES anywhere. It was blissfully quiet but still dark outside. So.... we walk over to the AK bus line. And we wait... and we wait... and we wait. About 7am a family gets in line for the MK. About 5 minutes later a bus pulls up. So I am starting to get frustrated. I ask the bus driver why the bus for the AK was not here. He informed me that they have cameras installed and the lines are monitored by camera. And since we were sitting on the benches out of the line of the cameras, a bus was not dispatched for us. Grrrr.... so we get in line. By this time there is another family behind us, (KSBelle, who was on our POPper thread). We chit chat and are finally on our way to the AK! This was my first time ever goign to this park. And as soon as I walked up to the gate, I knew I was going to enjoy being here very much! There was of course a line forming to get in. And we had to wait for the all clear before we were allowed in. As we are walking towards DinoLand in front of us is the Tree of Life. WOW

how amazing. I was able to take a few nice pics without tons of people around. We finally got to Donald's Breakfastosaurus and we allowed in fairly quickly. We were told how it would work and to go get food now, so we would be ready when the characters came in. There was a nice selection of food. We each found lots of stuff we liked! (I think we will do more buffets next time because of the variety) This was an early B-Day trip for Ryan and apparently that was noted on our ressie, so Ryan was given a Birthday button and everyone in our room sang to him! Finally it was our turn to meet and greet with the characters. I felt the interaction time was very rushed. I was not expecting tons of time, but I felt like I had to hurry hurry hurry to get a pic and then it was on to the next. By the time we had met the characters the line for the buffet was VERY long. It was close to park opening so Ryan said he would skip getting more food because he was ready for rides!
Well...... we exit through the back of DB and we are standing right in front of the entrance to Dinosaur. This was one of Ry's MUST do's. I wanted to go to Expedition Everest first, but agreed to ride Dinosaur with him. We were the first family of the day to ride so we got the entire car to ourselves. We also got a "Magical Moment" certificate. I thought that was pretty cool. But as we are getting into the car we both start to get very nervous. I had read reviews about this ride and I was prepared for it being scary, but I was NOT prepared for how scared I actually was.

Ryan and I held onto one another for dear life. I told him I was too scared to open my eyes and he said he was too scared as well. I think between the two of us we saw maybe 5 seconds of the ride. It was VERY bumpy, VERY loud and just way too intense for us.
Since we were in DinoLand, we rode the coaster there. Ryan loved it. I thought it was ok but since he loved it so much I asked the CM if we could stay on and she said yes, so we rode again. I wish the transitions into the spinning mode were a bit more smooth, but all in all it was fun!
On our way over to EE (

) we bumped into Chip and Dale. They were both being silly and spent some good time with Ryan.
It is hard not to feel a bit nervous when you see EE. It looms in the distance and you can hear screams from quite a distance away. Ryan was not interested in riding so he stood in line with me and then took the last ditch exit. This has to be one of my favorite rides in all of WDW! Too freaking cool. The line was still short so I said I wanted to go again. Ryan was in line with me for the second time but this time I was able to convince him to try it. The promise of some cool gifts did the trick! So we ride and he loves it!
To be continued......
